This Grand Final Competition again remembers three special TotalRL Australian Rugby League Forum people sadly no longer with us

  • George Fairclough (Bourbon Rat) of this forum

George was a lifelong Wigan Fan and a Melbourne Storm fan from their inception. He lived in Melbourne but lived in Wigan until he was a teenager. He married Irene, an Australian and with her raised a family of three boys. He was taken from us far too soon one week after celebrating his 65th birthday. He was a good friend of mine. George, with others, sponsored a Wigan player annually. He never forgot his roots.

. George Fairclough RIP

  • Richard Glover (Kiwityke) of this forum - New Zealand Warriors and Batley Bulldogs fan. Richard was brought up in Batley where he followed his local team.  He moved to New Zealand as an adult where he married and lived the rest of his life. In the latter years he lived just outside Auckland. He never forgot his roots and continued to follow Batley from afar. He did travel to the UK once a year to visit relatives and friends. While over here he would sponsor a Batley game. In later years he  sponsored the annual Batley v Featherstone Rovers fixture and invited Barney and me to the match as his guests.

We remember too all other friends of this forum who have passed away.

Tempus fugit!
It seems like only yesterday that we were starting with our 2025 Round 1 tipping competition and now here we are with our blockbusting Grand Final occasion just a few days away.

Everyone is welcome to take part in this competition, whether you've entered before or not this season.
The 2025 season tipping competition has once again been both a friendly and very competitive affair. It has again been successful with  a lot of regular participants and a high standard of tipping.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our tipping competition this season.

I've much appreciated your friendship and company.

Rest assured  it'll be run again for the 2026  season.

So here's to a great Grand Final, and may the best tipster and team win!
Good Luck everyone - there'll be an animated award as usual.

Wishing you all good health and happiness,

Graham

Thanks again Graham for running the competition and all the work you do.

Farmduck, if you're out there please come back. When I first joined you were very welcoming.

Good luck to one and all.

Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Graham, thank you for organising.

Points total 53, more specifically...

Broncos win 29 v 24 (HT 14 v 😎 ) - didn't know 8 and 'close bracket' did that!)

BB 5 tries (Staggs 2, Karapani, Hunt, Paix), 2 con, 2 pen, 1 drop

MS 4 tries (Papenhuyzen and Coates 2 apiece), 3 con, 1 pen

Therefore, 9 tries. I assume if all this comes true I win the whole season...

Viewing this on my iPad tonight I couldn’t see most of the images I’d posted in the first post above. In their place was a purple box bearing the words “content not viewable in your region”. All seemed okay on the iPhone though? Weird!

Now my iPhone has some purple boxes instead of images! Windows 11 PC seems okay.

Anyone else had any of the purple boxes with 'content not viewable in your region' message?

...

I've just looked online and the popular image hosting site Imgur (possibly others?) has cut the UK off, I believe due to new regulations that have been put in place. The purple box and message is the result.

I get this quiet alot Graham , no idea why , it does come back to normal later for some reason.

You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if its late.

This time it’s Imgur the image hosting site that’s shut the UK out due to the new regulations.

Big Thanks for Graham for running not just this Tipping Competition, but also the most troll-free part of TRL where knowledgable fans come together to debate the NRL. I look forward to the 2026 season.

What I don’t like here is sitting here with a bloke like you questioning my credibility. I misled no one – mind your words, son

Phil Gould responding to criticism -  I think I might try this out at work with any whippersnapper questioning my judgement.....

Thoughts with the families of those we have lost.

Massive thanks to Graham for running the best forum on TRL and for all the work he does with the tipping comp.

I am tipping the Storm to win 28 - 14 (42 points in total), with 7 tries to be scored.
