Just kicked off. On Sky Sports Main Event and Mix.

The two standout teams and both star-studded, with the Roosters undefeated on the path to the big dance.

Still 0-0.

Looking forward to watching this, especially for the most exciting player in the game, Tamika Upton.

Head clash and a double knock-on. Romy Teitzel getting taped up to look like a mummy.

Upton gets to the outside off the scrum and crosses with her speed and elusiveness.

6-0 Broncos

Easts looking a bit rudderless and lacking in attack without their injured little general, Tarryn Aiken. Olivia Kernick even putting in a grubber.

Brisbane's game to lose, I feel. It hasn't really sparked into life yet. The 88 degree heat may be a factor.

Only degrees 82F 😁

Fair enough. They said 31 Celsius pre-game, but maybe they were wrong.

Fantastic Offiah-esque try from Brydie Parker. Mid-field scrum five metres inside her own half. Hufanga shows her the outside and Parker glides past her and goes past Upton to score.

Kelleher nails it from the side-line. 12-6

Few errors and the like allowing the Chooks to get back into this. Not the best start to the second stanza from the favourites.

Kernick offloads and her fellow forward Lopamaua shrugs them all off and barges over after regaining a bobble.

Mia Wood in as well. Game has well and truly changed.

18-12

Now 12 all after a 10 metre barging run with a ball juggle or two.

Few quick tries in this one now.

Roosters attack falter with the pass going to ground. Julia Robinson streaks away.

Picked up Brigginshaw's left hand though, so the try is chalked off.

Brisbane's ball-players have to right this ship. They've allowed the Chooks back into it by becoming more conservative. They've got more game-changers, but they look lacking in conviction and cohesiveness.

Sauaso, the Rookie of the Year, charges onto a short ball and gets between two tacklers to slam the ball down.

Teitzel sprays the ball badly right.

Rookie of the year crashes over but conversion missed.

16-18 for the roosters.

Yes, I'm watching it.

When it speeds up and they find offloads around the middle I feel the Broncs look very dangerous. Hufanga key.

''Botox gone wrong'' the co-comm dubs it. A couple of nasty head clashes for Rima Butler and Keeley Davis. Butler's cheekbone has really ballooned up.

5 minutes for the busted Chooks to hang on.

Hufanga heads back in getting rid of multiple defenders. Barnstorming run, but the ball doesn't look to reach the ground.

Sent up a try and they give it the green light. I don't think I agree with that not being overturned.

Handbags out in the middle. Calm down, ladies!

Brisbane were pretty listless for 20-25 minutes of that second half and the Chooks wrested back momentum.

Hufanga definitely the WOTM for her runs and busts. Controversial try to win it, but it was a smashing run.

Would be interested in how many Roosters tried to tackle Hufanga round the neck during the match. Half of the total missed tackles?

Great to see the PTB as per the rules from both sides-  not a 'roll the ball' to be seen.

She's a big lump, isn't she. Not the fastest, but used right up the middle, she's difficult to contain. Shrugging Broncos off.

And a mention for the stadium announcer having messed up in the State championship game he then welcomed the women out at the end of half time for "the second forty minutes"

No onevtold him they play 35 minutes each half.

Give the job to a woman.

What did he say during the earlier game? I was watching UFC and gave that one a miss. I saw it was a blow-out at HT.
