This whole coup and expansion was driven by the Salford fiasco making a Toulouse promotion as team 12 more likely. Teams feared that and so here we are. Toulouse should be in the 12 on IMG Gradings. 1

A lot of money being spent as if they all seem to assume they will be in SL - surely at least one of the 4 has to miss out and have a very expensive Champ squad with at this stage what appears to be very little to play for in terms of promotion etc the following season 1

Les Tonks Sidestep Posted October 14 Posted October 14 (edited) I'm hoping it's Doncaster and Widnes (with Salford retaining their place)...... Edited October 14 by Les Tonks Sidestep 7
Spidey Posted October 14 Author Posted October 14 If there's nobody dropping out of SL it should be Toulouse & York If Salford go, add London If Salford & Huddersfield go then possibly Bradford 1

Max_Power Posted October 14 Posted October 14 What IMG and licensing caused was finger pointing between fans, our ground is better than yours, we have this, that and the other. That club isn't good enough for Super League. They bring no fans, etc etc. It's shrinking the game further and further. 3

SinBinSid Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Who remember Super League 2021? Leigh Centurions were 'committee' voted in after Toronto Wolfpack withdrew, mainly because of their ground. They struggled and were immediately relegated. That fact is often forgotten when people debate the two open spots for the 16 October 2025 committee vote. Surely it should have been London Broncos, who held the last Super League place in 2019 with 10 wins, especially as there was no Championship competition in 2020 due to COVID. And the rest is history…

It's mentioned all the blinking time. Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. (Terry Pratchett)
