I`m particularly looking forward to the Junior Kumuls` game against the Aussie boys, hopefully we`ll see the start of that PNG production line they`re spending all that time and money on now getting ready for their team in the NRL.

Should be a good game but the Kumuls need to stop selecting players who are too old. The team is supposedly meant to be U20 which is already a massive advantage coming up against majority 17 year olds, But i know for a fact they have selected a player who is 21 at youngest likely 22-23 though (Kevin Yako). And that's just a player i know of, Plenty of them could around the same ages too.

Besides that these are the guys I'd watch out for; Felix Beki is the 7, 19 years old (Probably), He's the best teenager in PNG, Very talented and a star for Gulf Isou. Ishamel Vaieke is at 14 but he is Beki's halves partner at Gulf Isou. Vane Manuma is 20, so a bit old but he made his debut for the Hunters this year and is a dangerous front rower. As for the Aussie based guys there is 3 I believe, Ellyjah Birve is at 5/8, he is one of the best U18 players in QLD and is very dangerous. Geordan Amaiu is the captain of the Raiders Harold Matts side and is a standout player. Both of those guys wouldn't have been worlds away from the Aussie schoolboys. The third is Taufa Taulani.

And others who played last year are Hercules Kondo, Joseph Kora, and Otto Thomas.

Has this fixture changed from previous years?

It always used to be The PNG Prime Minister's XIII Vs The Australian Prime Minister's XIII. Is it now the full PNG national team?

It's still the PNG PM's XIII.

So you don't rate the young pup Stanley Gene, then?

Why don't we have this ?

I'm sure Keir Starmer is as good a judge of a Rugby League  player as anyone.

It doesn't look like it'll be on Watch NRL. No sign in the upcoming matches. Only the Pacific Cup/Bowl games

I read that it is being streamed on NRL.com, including the Juniors Kumuls` and Orchards` game.

Out of interest the game is being screened across the Pacific on FTA.

I saw the same article, but there's nothing on the Watch NRL app. Outside the Pacific and the UK, nobody can watch, which seems odd and pointless

He cant pick a cabinet, hate to think what he would do with a rep XIII.

Me too. If this is just the beginning of the PNG Rugby League player production pipeline then I suspect we are going to see a lot of PNG born players around the world over the next twenty years. They`ve got some units out there.

A PNG lad in the Australian team too.  Been attending school in Australia for a number of years.

Moving forward a genuine schoolboys game would be good with PNG able to draw on Oz based eligible school students.  Lots of boarders, PNG born or PNG heritage players across the school system. In Queensland especially.

Perhaps a quota system would be required for selected players from PNG or Australia (or elsewhere).

Yes, but according to the watch NRL website and app, it's not

Well it is currently live on WatchNRL even if it didn't list it in the "upcoming matches" list.

Not sure it will be there for a replay though, as I seem to remember a similar thing happened last year also.

So far it looks like the PNG women have improved significantly.

The PNG side are struggling to get out of their half.

Oz good ball racking up. 16-4 with half an hour played.

Vossy is trying his best, but, with him and Brandy commentating remotely from a Sydney studio, it's all a bit half-hearted. Shame we don't get the local commentary, which would add a bit of passion and fervour.
