I'm saying if they win this they will no longer just look the part, they will have arrived !

Well, yeah, if you win the treble then it's pretty much fair dos all round innit.

To me, feels like the most realistic chance in a while that someone new might actually win prior to kick off - last time I felt like this I think was probably Catalans in 2021 I think? So what do I know etc... Think last year's final and the year HKR since have had sets them up amazingly to go out there without fear, but Wigan aren't set up to win three on the bounce for nowt.

I'll be there and really looking forward to it, should be a cracker

I'm neutral (other than I usually root for anyone playing Wigan 🤣🤣) so I just hope it's a good game to watch, exciting and no blow-outs, bit like the NRL final was at the weekend.

I think something like Hull KR 4-18 Wigan but the type of game where the result is never really in doubt.

That is what my head is saying. Wigan are favourites for a reason and have timed their run very well.

I think we do have a chance, but much will depend on whether we can get ahead in those early exchanges or not. Both teams play to try and get in front, choke the life out of the opposition and put them in quicksand, where they are making errors and chasing points and making their situation worse.

As a bitter Warrington fan I'll be cheering for Wigan. I want the next new name on that trophy to be ours. With the exception of hull f.c who made a grand final before us so I'll accept them doing it.

Oh agreed.

The hope is that they continue for the next few years at least.

Wigan and Hull KR absolutely deserve their berths in the final which hopefully we all agree on.

Peet is great at preparing teams for these kind of one off big occasions so (regardless of what I want) I think Wigan are favourites.

What’s the weather forecast like?  Will it be the proverbial piece of soap to handle or could we see more expansive play?

Bradford's name will be back on the trophy before Warrington.

The forecast is for it to be dry, about 15 degrees and hardly any wind. Ideal conditions for a game really.

I hope both sides open up a bit more this year. I certainly hope we do. This is the third final on spin for Wigan and there is always pressure to win but I'd like to think they're getting comfortable enough in that environment to play a bit more naturally.

I think Wigan will win it - they just have that experience of getting over the line even when second best coupled with two exceptional strike players.

I truly hope that I am wrong, however, and that we see a new name on the trophy.

Let's all just hope for a memorable game - for the right reasons, of course.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Watching the game live so thankfully I won't have to put up with replays and close up shots of Peet/Peters while the game's in progress or the equally annoying live action in a square at the bottom of the screen while they're showing the replay.  It's a shame no one from Sky Sports UK watched the Australian GF, they could've picked up some VT editing and broadcast tips.

Wigan are seasoned professionals when it comes to finals,i can't see them losing, hopefully iam wrong and KR can get the better of them this year.

Many a true word spoken in jest.

As it is Thursday I am optimistic not just that we will win but that we will show far more of our attacking credentials than for the last 2 finals. By tomorrow I will be equivocal and by kick off frantic and nervous.

Another point to remember is that whilst the score last year was 9-2 to Wigan, arguably, the gap was far greater.

Wigan had a try disallowed for offside that would have been awarded this year with the new active / passive rule. They also bombed a try dropping the ball inexplicably whilst sliding to the line.

They were both highly unusual incidents that on the majority of occasions would lead to a score of between 17-2 and 21-2 (probably nil as HKR wouldn't have kicked the penalty).

Isn't that Big Nige's plan for next year?

Just wait till the Test series starts. We will have to put up with RHP as well.
