Saints haven't got the quality of squad that hey did when Paul Wellens was playing. I think he is unlucky.

BBC sport are saying he’s been sacked which I think is a bit harsh on him, because he hasn’t actually been dismissed. He was out of contract and they aren’t renewing it, that isn’t a sacking in my book. He’s just come to the end of his contract and they have decided they want to give someone else a go.

My money is on Rowley…..missed out there, wires! ☹️

I just want to place on record my thanks to Paul Wellens for the courteous and considerate way he has always treated the media while he has been the head coach at St Helens.

It's clearly been a tough decision by the club but I'm sure Paul will bounce back elsewhere and I suspect he will gain a lot from being in a new environment after so many years with the Saints.

Rowley looks a really good fit for the Saints job it has to be said, really wouldn't blame him for taking it if he gets offered the job.

Only met Paul Rowley once.

His son and my son both attended the same private school.

We were an art exhibition held by the school. We chatted for about 10 minutes  I found him to be very polite and knowledgeable on Art..

I don't think this will be the last we see of Wellens coaching, think he will go on to be successful somewhere all the stronger for his experience at St's.

A very likeable bloke who was always respectful of his opponents wish him the best of luck.

He’s a nice young man with a lovely smile (Sultans Of Ping FC)’.
He just wasn’t Head Coach material (not yet anyway), the Saints fans i have spoken to most of them are really pleased. It’s just a couple who think he should’ve been given longer, which a lot of opposition fans agree with.
