As far as I'm aware Abi Ekoku is the interim CEO until March next year.

Any idea why the RFL, of which he is interim CEO, don't want to comment?

None at all.

I assumed everyone knew he was the interim CEO.

I'll have a word.

An organisation that has committed itself to increased openness won't even comment on the appointment of its own interim CEO?

But good to know you're on board with leadership through leaks, whispers, rumours and WhatsApps.

I think this strategic review might need to cover transparency and external communications.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Given that he is the interim CEO, I'm not  quite sure why it's a bizarre take to assume that people knew.

Probably because we're not in the same WhatsApp group as him

Ekoku becomes interim CEO, reports John Davidson.

RFL refuses to comment and makes no announcement, press release, or update to its website. Weeks pass by.

You seem to be suggesting that we have got to the point where one of John Davidson's long reads now means that "everyone" is aware. Bizarre.

Where has it been announced, where has it been confirmed?

Brighouse Spoons, a month or so back. He was telling anyone who'd listen.

Whether he will want to stay on is, as @GingerJon might say, a known unknown.

I'm told that he greatly impressed Messrs V'landys and Abdo when they met in London after the Wembley Test.

He apparently gave them quite a grilling in trying to tease out precisely what they are seeking to do.

Don't be too surprised if he is offered some sort of international role in the future.

"I'm told..." 🤣

"Nigel thought he did a great job"

Such a shock to hear that. You'll be telling us what religion the Pope is next!

Or why the CEO of the RFL, interim or otherwise, wasn't the person interviewed by the BBC? Instead, the organisation put up some random volunteer who happened to be in the building at the time

I’ve met Abi Ekoku many times, and as well as being a great fella, he’s incredibly smart.

Did he give you any reason why the organisation he's CEO of would not want to comment about him being their CEO?

Maybe you could answer the question that is often asked about his CV? What's he been up to, because he appears to be pretty anonymous.

He makes a lovely cuppa and every second Friday his missus bakes scones for Nige's elevenses. More than qualified.

Why do you need to ask? I assumed everyone knew.
