Max_Power Posted January 12 Posted January 12 UPDATE Following Friday's bitterly disappointing decision regarding the club, we can confirm to supporters that we remain in touch with the RFL as we try to obtain more information and clarify next steps. As always we will inform fans in due course. We have a series of things planned which will be outlined shortly. The club also wants to acknowledge the work and support that has been shown by and towards the True Blue movement over the weekend and it is absolutely vital that we keep this up. Thank you to everybody who has backed the club. In the meantime we are pleased to confirm that the club shop will open tomorrow - Tuesday 13th January - from 10am - 6pm for the sale of merchandise. The club shop will then open from 10am - 6pm for the rest of the week. An update on potential Saturday opening will be made later in the week. Amongst the items available are home and away shirts which would have been worn by the team this season and a range of merchandise in both kids and adult sizes. We hope that fans of all ages will get behind the club and buy items from the shop as we work to ensure the club survives and prospers in the interim period. The messages of support from fans and other clubs in the last 3 days has been very welcome after what can only be described as a horrific day on Friday. This is an opportunity for fans to wear their colours with pride as we start to demonstrate that FEATHERSTONE ROVERS WILL NOT DIE. We feel sure that the kit designs for 2026 will be a hit with people and the more we can sell the more it strengthens the clubs position moving forward. Online sales will be up and running shortly and we will provide details on that in the next couple of days. In the meantime we would love to see as many people as possible down at the stadium, as we start the fightback. See you tomorrow!
mightyship Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Will the money raised be used to pay down liabilities to players and suppliers? The cynic in me fears it won’t but I hope that I am wrong
tuutaisrambo Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Who knows? Is the retail part of the club in administration or part of Rovers Events which I gather is a separate company and not in administration? TBF it's a much nicer kit than last season (home anyway) and it'll be something of a collectors item.
marklaspalmas Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I think with the club in administration we need to know where the money generated from sale of merchandise would go. 3 https://www.fevarchive.co.uk/
Michael Bates Posted January 13 Posted January 13 My card payment went to Rovers Events. I bought both, because I like them. If you want one, buy one, if you don't want one, don't buy one.

At this moment we have no idea what will happen to any money paid over and to my mind that is not good enough. We need to be told where any money will go. 5 "Out of the way, son. Where's my medal?" But Rovers Events will have bought the shirts from the supplier, so why shouldn't the cash go to them? If the administrators had sorted shirts and were selling them, the cash would go to "the club" If you want to give £50 to the administrators and receive nothing for it, feel free, alternatively, set it on fire in the garden.

I think it's pretty clear that Rovers Events Ltd will not be taking the club forward now that The RFL have confirmed that the "new" owners were too close to the old ones. I like the shirt, but won't be getting one until and unless I know that my money is helping a new regime, not reimbursing the old one. Edited January 13 by David Shepherd 4

What a ridiculous statement. I never mentioned giving money to the administrator at all. I just want to make sure that any money I DO give goes to the club and not into a third party’s pocket. 1 "Out of the way, son. Where's my medal?" Buy a shirt, don't buy a shirt, makes no odds.
FR23 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 God some of you are unbelievable! Constantly moan! I’ve been this morning to buy me and my son something to help the club 1

I’ve been this morning to buy me and my son something to help the club I've got no dog in this fight, but isn't that what people are asking - is this money definitely going to "help the club"? To be clear, if MC has invested his own money to fund the shirts then to my mind there's nothing at all wrong with selling them to fans to recoup his investment (and after all what else is he meant to do with them?). It's unclear how this will "help the club" though, isn't it? Michael Bates Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Making it into some sort of moral quandary is odd isn't it? I don't go to Next and wonder who buying a pair of trousers will benefit. If you like the shirt, buy one, if you don't, don't.

If I was a betting man, I'd say the director of Rovers Events. Again, unsure why this is a moral dilemma. Rovers' shirt released that looks nice, I wanted one, I bought one. Do I care where the money goes? Not particularly. Is it going to have any great impact on the resurrection of the club for 2027? No.

But equally, given it's being advertised with the phrase "the more we can sell, the more it strengthens the clubs position moving forward", and it's clear from FR23's post above that that is being taken at face value by supporters, it's not unreasonable to ask how that will work given that the RFL iterim CEO has said that they have already spoken to two parties interested in taking on the club next season having stated that Friday's rejection came about because there wasn't enough separation between the "old" company and the "new" one. I don't think asking for transparency at this time is a bad idea. 5 "I won’t engage in a debate because the above is correct and if anything else is stated to the contrary it’s incorrect."
Monkeymagic22 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Personally I think that these shirts are the least of our worries. If people are dubious to where the money is going, there’s no need to buy one. Long term the clubs badge/image rights, would presumably be owned by the new owner/administrator.

tuutaisrambo Posted January 13 Posted January 13 As I understand it Rovers events is a separate company that runs the clubhouse and retail. It hasn't gone bust so your money is going to them......same as if you attend an event at the clubhouse or book a party. I don't know who owns Rovers events but I'd guess your money will go towards keeping that business and the people that work for it going? I guess if you don't want your money going to the old regime then you should keep it but there's no guarantees that the old regime are going anywhere as of yet? Ultimately depends if you really want the shirt........FWIW I wouldn't feel bad for buying one.........It could be the last........OR next season we could have a new club with new owners who bring out really ugly kits
The Phantom Horseman Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Just now, Michael Bates said: Yeah, fair enough, I agree. Ok. You're right though in that in the grand scheme of things this isn't a biggie. I think if I'm honest I'm just very keen that everything's done above board from now on. I feel a bit the same about the True Blue fundraising scheme, it's been a tremendous effort from the people who have got it up and running so quickly, and I'm pretty sure I'll contribute to it at some point, I'm just a bit uneasy if there are rival bids a couple of months down the line, say between Friday's unsuccessful consortium and a new consortium, whether there will be a "preferred bidder". 3 "I won’t engage in a debate because the above is correct and if anything else is stated to the contrary it’s incorrect."

They can’t then sell anything so it’s all smoke and fire http://tombatley.wordpress.com/ Give it a read..

Given that all Featherstone Rovers property is under administration, the ground, the staff, etc I'm not sure how Rovers Events is operating. 1 https://www.fevarchive.co.uk/

The thought crossed my mind earlier today as to whether any 'property' (physical and/or intellectual) had been transferred to Rovers Events before administration? If not they don't own the rights to produce and sell merchandise bearing any Rovers images never mind any issues about doing so without A shareholder permission. 3
Monkeymagic22 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Chris Hamilton is posting about Rovers stuff on Linkedin, if anyone is interested. 1
