Bedford Roughyed Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Terrible news. 1 With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
shrewsbury roughyed Posted February 1 Posted February 1 This is heartbreaking. A complete f up. Honestly, we should get paid compensation for supporting this club. What a mess. Irving has gone as well. It’s beyond a joke; I could cry 1
Expatknight Posted February 1 Posted February 1 This game of ours certainly knows how to shoot itself in the foot, and it isn’t just 1 or 2 clubs, we just seem to get things settled and put bad times behind us and then something else comes along. I hope that it doesn’t affect the future of Oldham RLFC in the competition as the last thing the game needs is for another heartland club to fall by the wayside. 1

clifford Posted February 1 Posted February 1 What will effect Oldham is not playing at Boundary Park. Whilst I don't like the ground it's the only stadium in the borough 1
winedrinkerme Posted February 1 Posted February 1 So who’s in charge now and where do we play this is awful we need a full explanation as to what has gone on NO RUMOURS ONLY THE TRUTH Is Bill Quinn still at Oldham or has he left to but that looks like BOWER FOLD could be our new home or have we folded ?
Anita Bath Posted February 1 Posted February 1 No gloating from me....genuinely want to see RL strong in Rochdale Oldham, Swinton. All good rugby people. Always sad when a club stalwart feels the need to leave his true home. Funny how chaos happens whenever a certain figure is given the commercial purse strings of a club. Lance that boil. Hope things can become clearer and the BP mess can be resolved satisfactorily. Roll on Good Friday...wherever it may played. 4
herbie Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I heard a rumour months ago that Quinn had fell out with Latics abd was looking to take the club out of town. I dismissed it. I pointed out we were a big part of sportstown. How silly of me! Looking back it started to go wrong around the dance thing. The young commercial lad left. Game days didnt seem as vibrant. Less families and kids etc. Less involvement with Amateur clubs. Im gutted! I just hope that theres not too much damage done before Quinn gets bored of it and Fordy can somehow pick up the pieces. Wishful thinking 1
eclecticsheep Posted February 1 Posted February 1 It's a tough enough game on the pitch without all this drama.... Is someone going to ask the obvious question, I Daren't...LOL! 1

Sheddings paddock Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Thus the truly calamitous close season comes to a close! Always seemed very strange what was going on - and as I said last week ‘there is no smoke without fire!’ Whoever thinks the club can survive and prosper at Stalybridge is away with the fairies! When is the ‘commercial’ arm of the club going to show their paying customers and sponsors some respect and tell everyone what the hell is going on??! People have paid money on the basis that Championship rugby was being played in Oldham - if that is not the case, tell people - and tell them how they can claim refunds if that’s what the customer wants! It’s been brilliant having some hope and excitement these past couple of years - but if I’m being honest, something inside me said it would all end in tears! Gutted! 2

LittleboroRoughyed Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Looks like back to the nomad days playing out of town. How long will Quinn stick around now? We may get the rest of this season but with crowds smaller than at BP & fans asking for refunds not sure beyond that. So I assume we’ll be playing at Bower Fold under Alan Kilshaw - how are the players going to react hopefully they’ll knuckle down & give us something to be proud of like today
georgeb1 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 What a mess our sport is in , salford , fev , now oldham , haven and town getting thumped , total rethink required or we are doomed. 2
Tim G Posted February 1 Posted February 1 The next seven days I believe will be crucial in the 150 years of our club. Communication is paramount in all aspects of people's lives. There is no excuse for the lack of information as we have been drip fed rumours for months now. A proper no bs response from Bill is required. He has put his money into the club and he has every right to run it his way. All I ask is what is your way now Bill, then I and many others can make our minds up if we also believe in the journey or not. We need to know and quick. 2

lalar Posted February 1 Posted February 1 George ford posted this on his X account Proud of everything you have done for the town and club of Oldham. It’s a travesty it’s had to come down to this. Sport has a funny way of exposing the truth as to why things happen. The team and people are always more important than an individual! 1
