Faxpanthers2025 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Interesting test on Sunday with Goole winning away at Swinton last week. Sounds like Nofoaluma will be back so you’d imagine Zenon back in the centres with Graham? Kyle’s interview mentions Dixon and Davies are still out. No word on Liu. Be nice to get a big club at home if we win (rather than a Catalans) - or one of the champ clubs left in it.
Cparks91 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Gonna be a interesting game but I feel fax will still have enough quality to win the game if nof is back I’d say he’d be at fb with zenon in the centres and graham maybe dropping to the bench and then a home tie in round 4 maybe against a team with a good following

Yes strange about Bailey Liu, so far he’s had about 15 minutes in the game against Doncaster and about 15 minutes in the NFL Quarterback challenge against Calli. 1

Boots Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Not what we wanted at any time and just now another painful kick in the bank account crutch piece. On the game nothing much between the 2 sides, same tries and came down to missed kicks. We had more than enough chances without the skill and composure to convert with far too much panic play especially in the second half, going from 14 nil up to conceding 18 points with no reply says it all. From their part Goole deserves full credit on this one, with some big D and 110% commitment throughout the full 80.
Ilkley Fax Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Hard to explain how so many players who looked world beaters last week had absolute shockers today. Looked easy to start with but when Goole scored they seemed to lose all composure. Looked a bit like a team that had been told it was going bust tomorrow. Honourable mention for Tibbs - one of the few who can hold his head up after that shambles. 1
BamfordsBarmyArmy Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I think we have a problem with our halfbacks- just not 'clicking'; It was *noticeable* last week/ definitely hurt us this week - no organisation around the field - especially when things started going wrong.. Jesse always looks to have that 'spark' / can 'dart' when close to the line, but elsewhere on the field is MIA... Meanwhile I thought Lawford was 'off' today - has looked good in previous two matches, but lost the plot today - and there seems to be no interplay *between* them (contrast with Keyes/ Jouffret at their best)- we're misfiring - so Tanguy/ Graham/ Forester / Tibbs (all great runners) not getting running opportunities.. And I don't understand why Okoro spent so little time on field when he was clearly gained the best yards of any forward when on.. hope Kyle can fix it - I still believe he's the man to do it... 2
Faxpanthers2025 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Very early days but I’ve not been massively convinced by Lawford so far. I did wonder whether we’ll make a play for Whitby - he wasn’t in the saints 17 against Workington. But then we probably want some continuity in the halves rather than someone we won’t have every week? Very frustrating to have served that up today given what we could miss out on and the general lack of attractive fixtures in our league. 1
Boots Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) Miles was more like Miles Off today, never took the line on coupled with miss timed or just bog standard catch and move the ball on, whether that affected the fluency of the rest? But something did because he wasn’t on his own. Missing out on a potential financial boost couldn’t have come at a worse time, even heard the microphone announcer say anyone with a spare tenner come and see (forgot his name) and it would be entered into another draw for sometime next week, never heard that before. Spoke with Alfie Johnson who confirmed it’s not good regarding his shoulder and out for 2 to 4 months. Edited February 8 by Boots

Maybe we may make a play for Whitby I think him n Jesse together could be a handful partnership 2

Encouraged Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Upsets can of course happen but there is no way on earth we should be accepting this other than an unmitigated disaster. It's just not fair and frankly embarrassing for us fans. Sort it out Eastmond. 4
Magicsponge Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I agree..same failings,Inman at 13...pack issues....why so little game time for Okoro and Dixon ? 2

If we’d been asked to put a bet on who was more likely to screw up from this weekends games how many would have said “Us” I would have it usually is. 1

The Inman at 13 experiment is baffling. Presumably yesterday’s result means there’s even less chance of us getting the prop we need.

Beaver 535 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 My understanding of the 1 week loan is the parent club still pay the players wages but if it is 1 month or longer then we would pay them. As for the game we was doing a fairly good job for about 30 minutes but once we conceded those 2 soft tries just before halftime the game flipped on its head. For me our best performers was Tibbs, Soric, Day and Okoro while Zenon, Carter and Lawford had shockers. Bringing on Hansen with just 6 minutes left when 2 of our spine players were having bad games was baffling. Inman at 13 is something that Kyle tried last year and i hoped he would of seen that it doesn't work and it is not like we don't have other options there. I hope the players realise that performance as potentially cost the club a very good payday in the next round. Fingers and toes crossed that the court ruling goes our way today otherwise we will have far more to worry about than being knocked out of the cup.
