One week he was going to R360 then the next week signing for Australia RU and the following week top14 French union.

http://NRL news 2026: Payne Haas set to quit Broncos, signs three-year deal with Rabbitohs https://share.google/UEwsalYQteTWKQBmi

Obviously Wayne Bennett played a huge role in his decision to sign for souths.

He will not be winning anything at the Rabbits, basket case team.

Probably best he is going, he and his manager have been playing this out for ages.

Souths must be using the same accounting firm as the Roosters.

100%

Souths have recently been a basket case on and off the pitch what with all the poor form and latrell dramas as well as the home stadium situation.

As great a player as haas is I think longterm the broncos will be better off with him gone.

That must be disappointing for the Broncos. Id love to know how much South are offering to entice him because Brisbane seemed to be offering a bumper deal.

Walker will be off contract and likely have retired by then which will free up a chunk of salary cap

It will free a lot of salary cap money that's for sure.

Disappointing but hardly a shock.

He must surely be one of the highest paid players if not the highest in the NRL.

He is probably the best prop forward I have ever seen. It isn't just his ball in hand, it is his workrate and exceptional defence.

Just glad to see him stay in Rugby League. Our sport is bigger than any one player but I would rather see good players stay.

I think going to another NRL club is a shock and wasn't something anyone has really been discussing.

Fair point.

I was certain he would end up in union be it French top14 or super rugby.

Terrible decision looking in from the outside, but wish him well.

Kind of reminds me of ponga at the knights in that an elite level player isn't signed to a top 4 side.

Like it or not great news for the game over here, only this weekend idiot ftzsmmns was crowing that he was on his way to union, that article aged well.

Haas is a player that can define our game, just the sheer physical presence of the man is a walking headline, he`s a player people want to watch, a player kids look in awe at, and yes he is only one player but keeping players like him in the game is a statement.

That Fitzsimmons character is a right laugh isn't he.

Agree about keeping players like haas in the game.

Couple of weeks out from the super (LOL) union starting and he`s still writing about League, not one mention of that comp, hard to believe. He`s the only journalist I`ve known in my forty-plus years of reading papers that responds to comments in his articles comments section. I love it because I know he reads my barbs.

That's wild that he responds to the comments.

He really, really hates RL doesn't he and the fact that the NRL is going gangbusters while union in Australia is on life support must be killing him.

Yeah, it`s eating him up that the plebs don`t know what`s best for them.

I kind of like Fitzy in a lot of ways. It's nice that he reads and responds to feedback.

He's heading to a club where big egos seem to be indulged and mollycoddled. I can't see this being good for his career legacy.

The irony is that the fool doesn`t realise in his attempts to belittle TTG he`s actually putting it and its` players on a pedestal with his almost weekly references to it. I`m sure there`s a lot of people out there who are tempted to see who these players are that he`s continually talking about as being the cure to all of union`s woes in this country.

And btw there`s nothing likeable about a bloke who often refers to the lack of intelligence of people who play our game, that`s nonsense for starters and just plain low to begin with. True colours and all that.
