Record crowds over the weekend, sell outs for next weeks games, commercial deals and new TV deals.

What on earth is going on?

Great to see isn't it. So expect a debate about the merits of expanding to 14 prior to kick-off or when the first promoted club loses heavily🙄

I think the fact pretty much every club has improved their squads is the biggest factor. Everyone's optimistic.

Even though it became a running joke last year, i don't think we can underestimate the impact of getting rid of loop fixtures. As a Bradford fan this is my only chance to see the Bulls at the MKM. I don't want to miss out. If we played them away again in the summer, or even if we played them in 6 weeks at home like the fixture list threw out in seasons gone by, it takes away that "only chance to see" feel.

This has been building and going on for a couple of years now. Not that you'd think it going by narratives and negging by some RL journalists and figures.

Great to see what will have been a lot of behind the scenes hard work at various levels coming to fruition.

We are not in crisis as Damien says.

Bring on the new campaign.

Extension is really positive as that's where we've lost people before.

I may be mistaken but RL Commercial is the first such organisation that I can recall in the years I have been following TGG.
We have long needed a group of people who wake up every day thinking about bringing in more money and work full time to make it happen. it takes a long time to see results from a standing start: I would hope and expect significant growth year on year if they get it right.

I just wish I could find ABK anywhere to try?

Re-Imagining Rugby League, that's what. The new lot have not been in post long enough for them to claim any credit.

Q: When will we know that 14 clubs is working for Super League?

A. Before we can answer that, we need to know what the move was meant to achieve. Seemingly, no one knows,

Went a beer festival night and ABK provided the beers for the night, it went down very well.

There were also claims and reports at various points in the last year that IMG would be ditched. That seems to be wide of the mark, given the work that is going on (and the fact they were namechecked in releases about the French TV deal).

I think the knock-on effect of the Ashes series can't be ignored. Three games on free national TV with big crowds and all the rest of it.

It really does raise the profile of RL in a way that nothing else we currently have does.

There was a lot of odd reporting throughout last year, around the coup, the NRL interest, Private Equity, the future of IMG, the future of French teams etc.

We'll start to see a lot of it playing out now.

I notice on the SL website that there is a link to this company too:

About | Believ - making sustainable transport accessible to everyone

Not sure if these are a rebranded existing partner or sinilar? I notice that egg are no longer on there.

Egg is owned by Liberty Global, which is also listed as a main shareholder in Believ. Looks like there is some sort of link there that has been retained with RLC.

Was all going too well until the news about Fax broke.

Great news, but what is really needed now to be the game changer is a new higher value tv deal. Then if I'm being really wishful in my thinking maybe some of this money could be trickled down in to the championship to support those clubs

Super Leagues been growing and building for the past few years. Clubs are making improvements to stadiums and match day experiences, crowds are up. Hopefully the clubs can see the sense in having two French teams.

SL is not in crisis but the championship definitely is. Hopefully a new TV deal will help support the game below SL

If the new TV deal is higher, without any other change being required, then it will massively buck the trend for such deals.

The sport needs to stop thinking that this - and smart fixture lists - are going to move the dial from where it is now.

Commercial deals and digital smarts. That's what's needed.

And that was the whole point of the IMG partnership. Hopefully they're still working together.

If the Sky deal shrinks, I imagine SL does too and I imagine that means a terrifying game of musical chairs. Because the Championship is in such a bad state, those SL clubs losing out will land very hard. London will also find it impossible to jump from 16th (was it?) to 12th on the gradings and so will likely be shut out for the foreseeable future.

I can only assume therefore that someone is confident that Sky (or some other agency) will increase its offer.

Commercial deals and digital smarts won't touch the sides because they are (very welcome but) incremental gains.

The only way TV deals across sports are staying the same or going up is if there is more content being given. You need to exclude the EPL and Champions League from this - at this time but that is coming - but every other time a deal has either plateaued or increased, the sport has had to offer more.

I think we can do that - to an extent - but the foolish thing was going to 14 teams too early and then using our payout from the Ashes to subsidise that fantasy.

Is this the same forum?? All this positivity feels strange. I’ve not been looking forward to a season as much in a long time.

It was all doom and gloom and name calling of Nigel Wood not so long ago on these pages.

The place will absolutely melt down if the “Pie & Pea mafia” actually pull off a better TV deal!

I think we have gone to 14 teams at the right time.

We had 5 clubs who could offer something in a 14 team SL long term in York Toulouse Bulls Oldham and London

York Toulouse and the Bulls were selected/graded for SL. They will all struggle in 2026 but will improve.

London it was too early for new ownership but should be next club selected.

Oldham were close but seem to have gone backwards since.

If we didnt promote the 3 teams they would of eventually suffered and funds would of dried up
