A few weeks ago i thought this was a winnable game but we haven't found any form in any game this year apart from 10 minutes here and there. Confidence is a big thing in sport and it's lacking in us. The defence was really good at Rochdale and we just got a lesson in attacking kicks. If we can replicate that defence and tighten up some things it's still winnable. Bradley will be a miss but Scholey does a similar job and hopefully Lawther is back .

Hi Peter,

Jack and the club have had to take a very cautious approach after a back issue was affecting him towards the end of the 2025 season.

He has now been given the go ahead to commence full training, so hopefully won't be too long until he's back in the Town colours.

Many thanks for the update, we wish him well.

Yeah wont be easy...widnes went well vs Leeds. Hopefully can tighten up the defence out wide and make it tough for them, hopefully Lawther plays in Centres.

Think widnes will take it by 16/20 but hopefully we see improvements and we score a few points.

Be excellent if even 10% of the non regulars from last week attend hopefully with a bus or two of Widnes fans.

Yeah another tough game but we knew this was going to be a very difficult transition season but rather this than what we had last season.

I will be happy if we are competitive and as Limmertime has said tighten up the defence out wide.

Hopefully a closer scoreline and an exciting game

Weather could force it up the middle today which could help us out. Pressure on the busted sofa Jordan Abdull as most things they'll try will be through him

Does he play at prop these days?

Our bogey team in the Lancashire cup in the 70s. They beat us in the 76,78 and 79 finals, and we beat them in the 77 semi at DP with a long range Corky special in a tight game.

It good to host them again and hope it is close.

A few of the haven lads at work who haven’t been for a bit are going to watch the game vs Barrow today because the scoreboard has been erected at the Rec. No power yet but it hasn’t put them off. Fair play.

I vaguely remember a Lancs Cup game at DP in the early 90s against their star studded team with the likes of Devereux, Moriarty, Grima, Faimalo,Davies, Eyres etc. I can't think of any at home since.

Well going to be a tough game but hopefully get a better performance today should be a forwards game so expecting 4 forwards on the bench today need Jake and dom to step up today and lead us around the park and use there boot to get us out off trouble hope lawther plays in the centres today and would like to see braiden on the wing

Don't think Braiden is in the squad, must still be injured

Yep, during the Ashton era. Joe Grima got sent off for them, Paul Penrice spent an hour winding him up until he finally snapped and threw punches while Ben just stood there with that big daft grin on his face.

I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally

Very tough game without the two Jakes. Let's get behind the boys, on a wet pitch completion rate has to be good as does the kicking. Get the line speed up and hope we can put some pressure on them. UTT!

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!
