I'd be worried if l were them though, look what happened to our opponents in our first two league fixtures! 1 4
il cattivo Posted February 11 Posted February 11 when we sign three quarters who can tackle we might stand a chance against these type of teams. we'll lose by 10-16 points I'm afraid. "you never win a game unless you beat the guy in front of you. The score on the board doesn’t mean a thing. That’s for the fans. You’ve got to win the war with the man in front of you. You’ve got to get your man." - Vince Lombardi.
bulldogtrev Posted February 11 Posted February 11 The result is difficult to predict on Sunday. If Olpherts, Manning, Ellis and White are available which four players does Ford drop from the team? Reynolds took a knock on Sunday if available will he be at half-back or fullback. Sunday should give supporters a better idea of the prospects for the season. "
weighman Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Can someone please help a Doncaster fan with ticket prices . Is there a price reduction for getting tickets in advance ?

RogerT Posted February 13 Posted February 13 The website is useless, there is a ticket purchasing site they use, but you can pay at the gate on the day £20 for adults.

RogerT Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Yes last season and this the Club have gone over to a similar system as Ticketmaster and you have to pay a booking fee of a pound making it £21 so it's easier to pay cash on the day. There is a ticket office at the side of the top turnstiles I am not sure what goes on there as I just pay my entrance fee at the gate, 1

john beer Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Excellent second half display from Batley lots of positive things to come... A very enjoyable game..this team will produce some good stuff this year, I'm sure of it. 2
The scrim reaper Posted February 15 Posted February 15 (edited) A game of two halves as they say! The first half cost us the game today we just looked all over the place and I don't remember one attack that got us near to their line, I always say you need at least 12 points on the board when playing down hill to be competitive uphill second half, why do we find it so hard to score going downhill? I'll be honest at half time I thought and probably not the only one, that we weren't going to score at all, but we came out a different team the second half and turned it into a real battle which is a trademark of ours, we had donny on the ropes and lost out to a knockout blow going for the drop goal,if it goes over we probably win! I just felt as though it could have been better organised woods had no protection in front of him and Holmes had a straight run at him and the rest is history! It was a real tough one to take after all the effort the boys put in! Nice to see Manning back doing what he always does! Edited February 15 by The scrim reaper 1
IanA Posted February 16 Posted February 16 If Batley had not given away a stupid penalty on half time for answering the referee back, then the score near the end would have been 12-10 and they wouldn't have needed to think about taking a drop goal. Ian A 1
BullyXL Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I believe the DG attempt was on the 4th tackle. Perhaps go again, make a few more meters forward, enabling to take a shot from deeper in the line. Holmes would not have charged it down in that case! Too impatient/panicky.
Keep The Faith Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 We didn’t take a step back with the DG it was rushed We turned up for 20 minutes and probably didn’t deserve to win we lack another prop http://tombatley.wordpress.com/ Give it a read..
bromleybulldog Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Just now, Keep The Faith said: We lack another prop Maybe look to the Halifax situation? Calcott and/or Dixon would probably do a good job
bulldogtrev Posted February 16 Posted February 16 It was a good effort from the team against a Doncaster side that will finish in the top 6. I agree that the injury to Matvejev when he came off the bench which left Batley a prop short did not help. There is clearly work to do to improve the attacking options and the discipline of the team. I was encouraged by the Greensmith/Olpherts centre and wing partnership. The Oakes and Burton partnership did not work. "
