Won 30-0.

Very similar to the Workington game but not as expansive at the back end. The pitch was heavy similar to what we have played with at home.

I feel we look good but we haven't been tested. Top of the league but essentially played 3 league 1 teams.

Next week is the test.

Never in doubt professional performance, nowhere near the force they used to be and the fan base are not as bullish as they used to be either.

Way too many penalties for 2nd consecutive game. Haven had 5 consecutive sets on Raiders line. What was the count, something like, 15 - 4? Gotta cut them out. Otherwise, good teams will make us pay and score. Still, another convincing win. Perfect start to the Season.

Great all round performance in those conditions, Haven never looked like scoring apart from the  try with the forward pass. Some excellent defence. As Cresta said in his interview they need to look at the penalties but another solid win. Bigger test next week.

According to the head to head results on Rugby League Project, that's the first time in 62 years that we've whitewashed Whitehaven at their spot. You have to go back to January 1964.

In fact, this might be the first time we've nilled both Whitehaven and Workington in the same season.

Expensive team that will do well in the league if you get over the financial difficulties of putting together that team.

The only player we've brought in is Greg Richards and he's from Barrow. Everyone else was already here.

They might have been there, but a good few of them signed new contracts.

Well yes. That's nothing new, it happens every year. We also reduced the size of the squad and brought Academy lads through.

What's new this season is only having two home matches between now and May...and one of them is against Halifax. Effectively no income for several weeks.

Pretty sure Cresta said in pre season the playing budget had been cut.

The post on the Facebook states if we had a balanced home and fixture list this wouldn't be an issue. We have 2 home games in 3 months then have 4 home games in 7 weeks. It doesn't make sense.

The 1895 cup draw was an absolute disaster. It removed 2 weekends we could potentially have played our 2 replacement home games, added a load of cost and lowest probability of getting through.

Last Raiders home league game Salford - Jan 31.

NO home league games in Feb or Mar.

Only ONE home league game in Apr.

So in 13 WEEKS just ONE HOME LEAGUE GAME to bring in much needed gate/live stream revenue.

Other Clubs, many in severe financial straights, have similar absurd fixture schedules. ie: Midland Hurricanes have 8 consecutive AWAY fixtures, Mar. Apr. May.

The League have seriously 'dropped the ball' with this years Championship fixtures, but too late to fix now.

The club basically admits that it wants a salary cap as it’s paid over the odds

Haven wouldn`t be where they are would they if they had not paid over the odds. I`d trust our chairman over the majority in rugby. Also wish we`d had the hundreds of thousands of pounds you have had over the years from SL/BNFL.

Steve and the board do a fantastic job and I trust them to always make decisions in the best interests of the club. Look around the rugby league world outside of super league now and a lot of clubs are struggling, our sport is being driven into the ground from grassroots level by the RFL.
