Deadcowboys1 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 So it's Saturday night under floodlights this week for table topping Broncos. Be interesting to see if a Saturday night ko affects the attendance up or down. Obviously a bit early in the week for news of any of the 5/6 that missed Swinton being available. Crusaders have 2 wins & a defeat in their 3 games including a home win over Swinton 2 weeks ago 48-22. Let's hope any tries are close to the posts given the vagaries of our tee kicking!!
St Reatham Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Looking at the main stand where I sit, lots of tickets still up for sale. Hopefully, lots will be sold this week.
Deadcowboys1 Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 (edited) Doesn't look like many of the injured troops will be back for Friday. Edited February 25 by Deadcowboys1

Deadcowboys1 Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 (edited) Thought we got a little slack last 15 mins but job done. Have to say Jimmy Meadows has improved both his play & kicking from tee this season. You might think it's a different fella to the one whose inclusion in the team was met with a certain amount of hilarity in the past. Well done Jimmy. Edited March 1 by Deadcowboys1
BigTime Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Not sure 7.30 on a Saturday really works and seems to have impacted on crowd size- some of the regulars not attending and a more muted atmosphere. However, against a side expected to be mid-table this was a really good performance. The fact the wingers only scored one between them suggests we carved Crusaders up pretty easily rather than having to really work for it. I was surprised Crusaders didnt offer more especially in the first 30 minutes. I agree with you DC about Meadows on both the hilarity and improvement points. He seems a decent fella and is playing with confidence although I did think his kicking on the last efforts were a bit hit and hope at times.

Yo BT, welcome to the new home of the Statler & Waldorf gang. Without Hawkins, we don't have much of a kicking game do we? Also it would be nice when getting a pen, the kick moved us more than 10 meters up the pitch but just quibbling. Now they have played a few games together, you can see the improvement.

BigTime Posted March 1 Posted March 1 I noticed the Reserves won against HKR. Sounds like the younger players like Porter and Davidson did well. I hope we are able to give these players a run out in some of the less competitive games. The more they play the better they will get. 2
BigTime Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Good to see Huw Worthington, late of this parish, has been signed up by Crusaders. I thought both he and Davies did really well for us and I was surprised they didn’t get snapped up by a team nearer to where (I think) they live. Clearly decent standard Championship players. 3
BigTime Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Crusaders in a terrible spot now. Difficult to see them surviving the season. From a purely selfish point of view I wonder if that means the games they have played are wiped and with it our huge points difference. I assume it’s too late in the day to give us a replacement team as they did when Fev went belly up. What a right old mess it all is. 2
