Reality if Championship RL

Just spotted a post of Whitehavens Facebook page and it makes somber reading. This isn’t the full article but sums up the reality of finance at our level 

Last Sunday the lads got the first win of the season with a brilliant performance against an experienced Rochdale side.

We only had an attendance of 451

When you take out

away directors 10

Away players 25

Under 16's

Hospitality guests & season ticket holders there was 105 people that paid full price and 40 of the players friends and family that paid £10.

We usually make an average of 10k per home game which is still along way off fully paying to run a team and the reason why we've planned in so many events.

Last Sunday after all the game day expenses were paid we made 2k which doesn't even pay for the players monthly insurance.

Clubs are told to prove across multiple years they are growing attendances, stadium investment, social media and invest heavily in all the other IMG areas for a chance that in a random year they may, on the whim of a commitee get selected to go up. So people simply wont buy into this Championship 'product' without a clear promotion/relegation every year.  Aside from a decent game of rugby, what are we actually paying to watch/get behind this year?
