What a sad state Rugby League is in below Super Greed. Not just the Lions. Salford and others are in the same boat.

Totally agree - yet I imagine the RFL think its all good  

Sadly the only aspiration for clubs outside SL is to balance the books - which is paramount and maybe develop a few players to sell on to SL clubs to help with finances.

The farce of the Challenge Cup seeding system means no club outside of SL will ever get to the final - but they will get to play an SL team at home pick up some gate money but be battered on the field of play

I am sure my dislike of the disparity in the game will be criticised but I can't help myself

I don't think any team from outside the first division has ever got to CC final since the reintroduction of 2 divisions, 50 plus years ago. But things have become worse since the introduction of full time professionalism, which means upsets become rarer, although we famously best Huddersfield didn't we.

As for this season, I appreciate it seems we have cut out cloth accordingly and in the absence of someone pumping some significant money in, that seems sensible, however if things carry on as they are it will only put off fans and potential sponsors.

The gamble of recruiting mainly young ex academy players sort of worked lat year, but we are overmatched most weeks so far this season. 

Hopefully grounds firming up may help, but I am not holding my breath. Question is how will we approach next season and how much will we have to spend.

Hopefully we can at least beat Salford
