Watch NRL. No Highlights in 2026?

WE get every game live and on demand, same in 2025

But last season they also did an 18 min(+/-) highlight package of every game, available an hour or two after the game.

Has this now disappeared? It appears so.

Nrl.com still does a 4 minute match highlights package for every game on their main site, but that's not part of the subscription of watchNRL. This consists of the tries and no more usually.

I thought the 18 minute edit was really useful to catch up on matches I haven't the time to watch in full.

Hey, I hadn’t got round to noticing that. You’re right. That’s a disappointment. I used those short versions often for catching up on some matches I’d missed.

I noticed this yesterday too. Really poor decision tbh. Was so handy to catch extended highlights when you didn't have time to watch full re-runs of games.

I emailed Watchnrl support about this and they replied  quickly to say that it was a 'known' issue and they haven't stopped the highlights and interviews.

Seems strange to me as it doesn't seem like an app software glitch, but at least there is hope that they will return at some point.

As an update on this, the watchnrl app on my phone and tablet offers the customary 18 minute highlights package around about an hour or so after the game has finished. I really enjoy this service 

However, on the website version when on my PC, it is still not available in 2026.

I'll check that out on my phone. They're certainly not there on my PC.

Yeah the 18 minute versions are called Mini’s in Aus and are a feature of many sports. Big Bash, NBL, NBA, AFL and the NRL.

These are still available on Kayo, so it does sound a bit strange they are not readily available on WatchNRL.

is there no similar 18-20 minute highlight feature for all SL games on Sky or via Sky app?

I took my turn at messaging WatchNRL today and got this reply:

Thanks for letting us know, and sorry for the trouble. If you can play the full match but not the minis, that’s consistent with the current issue affecting minis on the platform. They’re not intended to be removed, and we’re working to restore them as soon as possible. 
 
I don’t have a confirmed ETA yet, but we’ll update customers once minis are available again.

Yes, using the watchnrl app on tablet and phone, they're back.

But watching via the website on PC they're still AWOL
