Swinton have released a statement saying its performance related and not financial, seems strange to release both our hookers in one week and only have one fit half back that has filled in there, we should never have released Waterworth. Be interesting to see our next move, it does feel a bit like a managed decline at the moment.

 

Wood never seemed to like Roby, they seemed to clash, so wouldn't have been a big surprise if Openshaw hadn't left last week, Very unprofessional statement as well saying its performance related, expected better. We have now lost 4 of our more experienced player for various reasons since the start of the season

Worst news ever - I don't think Roby has been in the best of form but I imagined a lot of pressure on his shoulders being one of the most experienced players at the age of 24 ?

I think the club is now in dire straits and I can't see where a win will come from

Has Roby's form declined since he first signed? He was acclaimed as a real prospect at one time despite his tendency to get into bother. Something seems not right at Swinton just now.

For me he's split the fanbase, some love him, I wasn't his biggest fan as when you look back on the tries, he misses tackles and I thought his discipline was poor. Saying that, one thing you couldn't doubt was his effort and commitment to the club. 5 years and we say we have released him on performance issues, surely we should have known that after 5 years of extending his contract? I dont think one player has advanced this year, Ratchford is the one shining light up to know but after Stevens injury, he is having to do everything by himself. Things seem very wrong at the club

I agree some fans liked Roby and others didn't but for me Roby was like a stick of rock - cut him in half and the words Swinton Lions would be seen.

I am really despondent right now and finding it hard to have any enthusiasm about the club............which no doubt is wrong as I am sure the board are trying their upmost behind the scenes to build a future for the club.

Totally agree, I am dreading Easter Sunday as Salford seem to be investing and we are releasing players and relaying on loans. I haven't been to an away game yet this season, cant get the enthusiasm as I know we are not only going to get beat, but not be competitive

Having seen Swinton's statement about Roby's release I don't blame the player for hitting back. Good luck to him at Hornets.

Our loss is Hornets gain and I am sure we will be reminded of this when we play Hornets again later in the season.
