Yes both good players. Devechi was a second rower wasn't he? 

When you remember players like Devechi and Banquet you realise that France miss big mobile back rowers. And these were guys playing in the local French competition too. 

It really shows that France has gone backwards in many ways both in the Elite 1 league and player development

Banquet was a centre, wing or full back, he was the size of a back rower though

Fun fact: Ronel Zenon from the first PSG squad was the founder of the recent Lyon XIII club. I'm not sure if the club is still running

That's a good list. I'm shocked that Pierre Chamorin isn't there. He was a very highly rated player

I've only seen the odd game of his, which is why I didn't put him in the 17. Maybe he should be alongside Duport in the centres...

Did Ezzedine Attia play in the SL era? He was, as Stevo might put it, one tough hombre. Went on to a career as bodyguard to celebs.

He played for Workington in the shortened centenary season pre-cursor to SL, and then a few games in the first SL season. He was utter garbage.

Fair play. I don't remember him in 1996 in SL but remember him pre SL, probably 1991 onwards as per my original post.
