I’ve tried to watch as many games as possible so far and the 2 best teams have been Hull Fc & Huddersfield Giants.

It’s traditionally been Saints, Wigan & Leeds so it’s good to see other clubs with really strong teams.

Both HFC & the Giants look a bit bigger and skilful than others I have seen.

Anyone else on here watch the Scholarship or Academy games ?

Agreed, it’s great to see other clubs competing and being seen as a good option for scholarships rather than just the big three, like you say.

I’ve only managed to get to the Leeds v Bradford scholars so far, which was a close game. Bradford have had a strong setup but obviously their Champ status didn’t help them recruitment/retention wise. Now with a pathway to SL, I can see them getting up there as well.

Wakey with the investment and John Bastion in charge might also be on the up over the next few years.

The Giants scholars smashed Wakefield 56-24 last night, this followed a 40-22 victory over Castleford, it's early days yet but there's some definite talent in there this year, Noah White, Olly Ward and Tristan Hilton are names that have been mentioned from the U16's already.

Seems Chris Cullimore has made a good start on his return to the club.

Some impressive sons of ex players in the ranks.

Danny Brough’s son Henry is a stand off and scored an impressive try from his own half for Leeds scholarship a couple of weeks ago

Karl Pratt’s son Harry is a stand off for the Wire and has been described as a generational talent. Warrington’s scholarship also includes Simon Grix’s lad Caleb who is a half and Toa Kohe Love’s son, also called Toa who is a rake

Whoever owns Sky Rugby Instagram page said Harry Pratt is one of the best youngsters he has seen or words to that effect.

That is exciting and I’m keen to see more of him.

Cameron Windley at Hull FC has started well and their big number 8 Attah looks a great prospect as well.

Yes, sorry. Another term for hooker.

Koa Love has had older children on the books of Warrington academy but they didn’t seem to breakthrough

Yes I saw that and he is knowledgeable.

Ive not seen enough of Pratt but he looks the part. Im always cautious when it comes to tags like that though. Liam Sutcliffe looked a generational talent when he was coming through but just never really transitioned. Jack Walker similarly

Yeah good shout. He was always seen as the more promising half between him and Williams coming through the Wigan academy

Hull FC v Huddersfield Giants tonight should be interesting.

Leigh’s scholars/U16s beat Leeds tonight, after also beating Wakefield a few weeks ago. Considering the academy set up has only been up and running a couple of years, it’s nice to see positive signs already!

Hopefully the appropriate time and investment continues to go into this academy to see it impacting the first team. I guess a lot will depend on the club's overall standing in whatever structure is in place over the next 5-10 years.

Leigh 44 Wigan 14. What a win that is!

Results suggest we have managed to get a decent crop of kids onto the scholarship. I just hope the club have the patience and resources to keep the best ones through the pathways without losing them to the big clubs when they move onto the next stage.

The number 6 Astle looked good against Leeds a couple of weeks ago, I’d assume he is related to Logan Astle who was a good player a few years ago at Wigan.
