Another great game in prospect, one that we should win quite convincingly.

Will be quite difficult for the coach to pick his side after last weekend's changes.

It’s refreshing to read/talk about actual rugby, after days of trawling through the mire elsewhere in the Forum.

I’m a natural pessimist but I still don’t think this one will be as easy as you’re implying. Halifax pushed Doncaster, losing only by 7, and despite the early season financial crises they’ve retained a core of good payers and they’ll come out firing and proud. I think we’ll win, as our defence in particular is aggressive all round the park. Plus the Australians and signings like Brad Day and Liu have given us a tougher, harder edge. Compared to last season when in reality many of the ‘name’ signings didn’t seem to offer much beyond disrupting the team, the newbies are far better team players. Looking for a Roughyeds win by about 8 or 10, though I’ll accept higher.

It’s interesting week by week on the main forum. Posters regularly dismiss Oldham as a struggling team. We have taken London closer than any other team and had Makins try not been disallowed (a really poor decision by the ref) we could have gone on to win. London we should have won had we took our chances and again had another try bizarrely disallowed

I think we will win on Sunday and by a decent margin.

Some interesting selection options to be made. I think Dean and Drinkwater at  halfback, and in the threequarters I would put Bibby to centre and Dixon on the wing.

Definitely going to be a good game. I’m sorry but I think this may be similar to the Sheffield game and be a nailbitter.

Despite the financial issues, think Halifax are still a good club.

Hope I’m wrong and it is comfortable but Fax are tough.

I don’t envy AK having to pick the team this week.

Douglas is a massive boost for them signing on loan from Bradford. Probably the best forward in the champ last year.

Very similar squad to last week. Drinkwater and Ashurst straight back in for me but who they replace is a much trickier decision. Smith has been excellent over the last 6 weeks but Dean was fantastic last week and his kicking off the tee was superb. I'd move Lannon back to the bench so Ashurst can come into the second row with maybe Milner dropping off the bench.

Oldham by 8 but I reckon this will be very tricky and close game

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Well done Oldham! Couldn't be there today but listened to the live commentary. Sounded a good crowd too from Oldham. Roll on nxt week

Referee had a bad day at the office in our favour, happy to take the 2 points against a Halifax side that were stronger than the scoreline suggests

Thought we were very good today and probably our fitness played a big part.

Halifax couldn't sustain their effort in the first half and we put a lot of points on them either side of the break.

Now Walker is fit, he looks a class act and loses nothing in comparison to PLT. Our back row is very strong, but thought today's best player was Wood, who was extremely good.

Brad Day & Ben O’Keefe unlucky to miss out. Both did well last week. You’ve got to be really on your game to get in the 17 in this squad. Excellent.

Kilshaw confirmed they both picked uo injuries in training

Good solid performance without being too great. Halifax have a very good tough pack and today was never going to be an easy game. Douglas was unreal for them as always.

Bibby and Nisbet had their best games in an Oldham shirt. Bibby unbelievable in yardage carries whilst Nisbet was just all round excellent. Drinkwater kicking fantastic and something we have improved on exponentially this year compared to last. Wood fantastic off the bench again. Dean's kicking again was fabulous with all the tries out wide and his only miss hitting the post.

Thought the only disappointment was the last 20 after the Bibby try. We were massively on top and just let them back into the game and then looked very stodgy and slow with the ball probably just trying to get the end of the match.

Interesting to note that it takes time, obviously I suppose, for even really good players to slot in and start performing. Bibby has got better week by week. Walker started dreadfully but us a real handful and strike player now. Riley Dean was ok last season but is really good now. Lannon has got better and better. Which is why I think it was an error last season to get all the Salford lads, plus Musgrave & Nene Mac and the short term loans (with the odd exception). It might get a few humus on seats but the disruption and lack of developing our long term players isn’t always balanced by whatever the short termees give us.
