Good to see the high levels of confidence in the Trinity camp. I think we will see a very highly motivated Wigan. With Field back, our attack should be good for a few tries. Keep focused for the 80 in defence and I see us progressing.

I think Wakey look like good contenders for the final. They also have home advantage at a ground where Wigan have typically struggled.

As for Wigan, there looked like signs of improvement for most of the game against Saints but the same old issues reared their head, namely poor discipline and weak defence from our right edge.

Havard missing out is a massive blow. He's been our best prop by some distance this year and is so important to our defensive effort. The other members of the pack need to step up.

If Nsemba hasn't recovered from the ankle injury then that's even more of an issue as it's a forced reshuffle of the side and I'm not sure which way Matt Peet would go.

I think we may see Harry Smith moved to the right edge with Jack Farrimond on the left. That could strengthen our weakness on the right but it depends how well the partnerships develop. We're still going to need to be dominant in the forwards and clean up our discipline around the play the ball and I'm not convinced we're going to be able to do that.

WT should be really looking to nail this one at home tomorrow. No excuses on current form etc. However all set up at home v Leigh last season and blew it. I might be wrong but apart from York I believe WT are the only current SL club who have not appeared in a Challenge Cup final during the SL era. 1979 last time v Widnes. Lost 3-12. Current cash backed squad need to make a statement.

I kind of agree with you but Wigan will still come with a very strong team, they can absorb the loss of Havard quite well, if Nsemba doesn’t make it then losing the two of them will be a big blow. Obviously French and Wardle give you that cutting edge differential but their replacements will be no mugs.

On the Wakefield assessment, we are still a work in progress so while our mean performance level is rising we are still subject to form and like every team that form can come and go without warning.

Let’s hope Wakefield Trinity can win this one and join the likes of Leigh and Hull KR in gatecrashing the traditional elite clubs

IMHO there appears to me to be a sense of nervousness amongst the WT faithful regarding this game. In my heart I know that a lot of Trin fans are expecting them to beat Wigan on this occasion. However past experience also tells them that Trin are the masters of letting the fans down!

I don’t know a lot Trin fans who expect beat Wigan.  I don’t know a lot of fans of any SL club who expect to beat Wigan.  We’re in our 2nd season back in SL and are going well, we are building the club on and off the pitch and enjoying what’s happening and looking forward to the future of this great club but not expecting anything.

Very disappointing as a Wigan fan that i expect a drubbing today. Obviously hope i am wrong but we are falling fast and i don't see how we turn it around. Going to places like Wakey expecting to be beaten is bad for a club as big as ours. That isn't a slight on Wakefield, i love what they are doing. They have come from being basement dwellers, improved their stadium, youth and first team squad. They should be a benchmark for all promoted sides but in the same breath, i would expect a Wigan side to be turning them over in a knockout competition.

Wakefield are favourites for today for me. They are at home in front of a big crowd and are playing much better than Wigan who have injuries piling up now.

Not sure about Hodkinson on the bench again. If he was a utility back it could be a useful option, but he's never been played anywhere other than fullback, which suggests he's only going to come on if something happens to Field.

I'm a big fan of Kian McDermott and I hope he actually makes it onto the pitch. I know lots of Wigan fans hoped Forber would be on the bench. I thought he probably wouldn't but only because I expected Kerr to play the utility role on a bench full of forwards.
