Not a positive statement, feel for those involved with North Wales and some of the best fans that come up to Newcastle. I'm hoping something can be sorted out as there are passionate people involved.

Looks like the end of the line (hope I'm wrong!).

Me too - me'n'Dad have been discussing the fact it hasn't been looking good for a good few weeks, I just hope we're all wrong and someone pops up to sort it out...

So long as proper rugby league people get to see their clubs who cares...

Very sad news, I hope some arrangement can be found and quickly.

Sounds desperate. I think it's becoming clear that there's clubs in the professional ranks who aren't suited to the demands of professional sport and the expectations we have of them. The money simply isn't there to fund such clubs in the current model.

This move to a single Championship, encompassing clubs with elite ambitions paying decent semi-pro wages and also community clubs with far less resources is going really well so far isn’t it?

Well done everyone, well done 👏 👏 👏

Not sure that's a factor here is it? Sounds like they've spent unsustainably and are paying the price and that could have happened in League One. They've got loads of ex Swinton players and the impression we get from our club is they cut our cloth accordingly and had to let loads of experience leave to keep the lights on hence our current predicament where we look likely to lose every game.

I feel this has been on the wall for a while - splashing the cash early-days with owners who’ve always been questionable. Eggchaser is hardly a well-known/well-established brand in any case.

One of the RL journos reported earlier in the week that Crusaders players haven’t been paid and that their attendances this year are averaging below 300.

I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally

Their investment never seemed to be backed up with anything coherent. Others will be able to say if they did much to entice/retain people to attend and/or spend money when there.

Yeah I guess my point is that there are two types of club in the new Championship: Those with the ability to generate revenues to support semi-pro rugby (albeit still not paying players what they sometimes did, in the naive hope for a step up into the big league), and those for whom it is much more of a community affair. Forcing them into the same league makes no sense at all. Owners want their clubs to be competing most weeks, if they’re playing clubs with more resources the temptation to spend beyond your means is greater.

But anyone who did some research on the Eggchaser business when they took over won’t be surprised by this. Proper Walter Mitty stuff, this was always going to be some form of car crash unfortunately.

I wouldn't wish to guess their average attendance this year, but at the recent home game against Whitehaven, the number of away fans was a sizeable proportion of the total attendance...

Hunslet, Whitehaven, Rochdale to name but 3,getting 3 figure attendances. They can't survive on these attendances, sadly there will be more before end of season.

How do they get higher crowds? Easy question, I know!

If there was anywhere to play, move back to Wrexham!! But, as with many towns (and cities, sorry I forgot for a moment we're a city now) there just aren't the stadiums to go to, but the mainstay of the fanbase is still Wrexham. Let's face it, 90 mile round trip for a Home game is a bit much. Wouldn't surprise me if we could almost double the crowd back there.

Someone earlier mentioned that eggchasers was a carcrash waiting to happen and whilst they made good noises earlier in their tenure, it always felt a bit like that..
