hunsletgreenandgold Posted April 10 Posted April 10 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/articles/cy417xx94kyo Sounds promising, even if the detail is lacking
Tommygilf Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Good partner to have on board. Will expect professional conduct and high standards.
FearTheVee Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Expect this is for them to act on behalf of SL in any NRL deal
Click Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Just don't read the comments underneath the article, RL fans are a miserable bunch 1 1
JonM Posted April 10 Posted April 10 50 minutes ago, Click said: Just don't read the comments underneath the article, That's true of just about any big media site, for any topic. It's not RL specific (although I agree RL fans do bring our own special kind of misery to these things).
Just Browny Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I see we have a few management consultants on the forum. I can't see any point in this; I thought our club owners were equipped with all the know-how we need, not to mention Nigel's accountancy skills. 2 I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

This seems to be about recapitalisation and paying for accounting/operational/legal expertise on that might make sense but the RFL press release hands out two Deloitte email addresses for interested parties to contact. What on Earth is that about?
Damien Posted April 10 Posted April 10 What are Deloitte actually doing that RL Commercial or IMG can't do? Haven't we got a 12 year strategic plan laid out or is this torn up at this point? I am not against availing of outside expertise per se but would like to know the rationale. I certainly hope it's not just pay Deloitte money to try and get PE investment. That is a path we have already wasted money on. 4
gingerjon Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Was recapitalisation one of the 144 strategic review points? 5 Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. (Terry Pratchett)

LeeF Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I hope that all the club owners are aware of any fees that may be due to Deloittes 9
welshmagpie Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Wife works for Deloitte, I mentioned this news to her today. Here was her response: ”Yeah I saw that on the company newsletter, we’re pretty good at sh*t like that - we had something to do with cricket and tennis as well.” I’ll back her insight! 2

To not hire a third party to conduct due diligence on the biggest commercial deal in British rugby league for 30 years would be negligence.
M j M Posted April 10 Posted April 10 It'll be DD as said. Money for old rope for Deloitte and it rarely produces much everyone didn't already know - but it has to be done.
Whippet13 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I regularly have to work with Deloitte, how successful this is will depend on what the RFL are paying - Deloitte have some very good people, but they also have some very inexperienced trainees needing low risk experience. 1

gingerjon Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Deloitte and cricket: https://www.deloitte.com/uk/en/about/story/impact/a-game-changer-for-cricket-in-england-and-wales.html Deloitte and tennis: https://www.deloitte.com/uk/en/alliances/opening-up-tennis.html Two very different pieces of work.
