Easily felt like our toughest away game of the season (even moreso than Whitehaven where we drew in awful conditions), and credit should go to Town (and their fans) for that. 

I was worried about whether our attacking shape would fall apart without Else, but Sully and Ethan gave a good account of themselves and produced some good assists. Ethan will only get better now he is likely to have a run of games in the halves. 

Also have to chalk up some individual brilliance from Ryan Johnson - what a season he's having - and Todd Horner for our first half tries. 

That said, we were our own worst enemy at times. We go 18-8 up after a brilliant start to the second half and then one of our best players has a brain explosion defending and it becomes 18-14 a couple of tackles later. We also had some bad luck in that Johnno couldn't help but catch an offside kick from a deflection, and from that some suspect defending meant we went 8-6 down. 

A potential free-hit for what I expect will be a much-changed side facing North Wales in the 1895 Cup, and then we face Swinton at Heywood Road in search of an 8th league win in 11 games. Would have bitten your hand off for that at the start of the year!
