On loan.

Will play against Saints on Thursday night it seems.

What am I going to put here now?

We needed a centre with Romano now out long term and Hardaker having to play every position but centre. He's a good player, I suppose it's his temperament that is in question. We have been linked with him before so it wouldn't surprise me if this turns into a permanent move somewhere down the line should the loan spell go well. I hope he does well at Perth, but realistically I'm not sure it will last more than a season or two.

I can't put the exact words my Dad replied with in response to this news, but to summarise:

"Good riddance what a spoilt petulant ******"

Sorry to disappoint your Dad but, from the Hull FC website :

"The centre has joined the club from Leeds Rhinos on a one-week loan."

Really?!?!

Assessed on a week by week basis according to Brad Arthur. Wanted to play Super League (which is why he, unlike say Ethan O'Neill) hasn't featured for the reserves at all.

How long is Romano out for?

Unknown at the minute, but he needs (or maybe already has had) surgery, so I reckon you're talking months rather than weeks.

A couple of months, I seem to remember reading.

My thoughts are good luck Hull.

Hes from what I have seen of him on tv is at best a needy lad.At worst a problem.

Its as clear as day Brad Arthur wants rid.

We don't know what goes on in training or  around the  Leeds training squad, but for the lad to be fired off to another club it must be serious.

When he was dropped a few week back Brad Arthur was honest in replies to the questions posed.

Like I said good luck Hull.

Wakefield coach John Harbin used this angle to good effect back in 2001

"My dad thought the ref was ....." 😂

It's funny how people turn out like that.

I am pleased it didn't happen to me, but then again it was hardly likey because, as my mum kept telling me, I am very special.

This is actually his only real strong opinion on Leeds this year, interrupting updates from my parents otherwise relaxing retirement holiday in Vietnam!

Safe to say I don't disagree too much. Newman has been a liability this season (and much of his time at Leeds), whilst this year particularly, he has just not been that good either.

Newman spat his dummy out and refused to play for the reserves so Leeds sent him packing to Hull as punishment. Feels appropriate

It seems clearer every day that he spat the dummy out when Arthur addressed the players about their attitude to match officials as Newman was dropped for the next game and hasn’t been picked again

I know this, and your other posts, are what most of us have said on here for quite some time while some Leeds fans were defending him to the hilt.

His attitude, general petulance and Im bigger than the club attitude have been obvious since he first came onto the scene. With him leaving anyway they dont have to pander to that now and are better off without him.

On a side note, I could never understand the signing of Ethan O’Neill and it’s even more baffling now that he’s rotting away in the reserves on a 3yr deal. I suspect he’s on a reasonable wage too

Yep 100%. That sin bin at Wakey and the collapse at Hull were the nails in the coffin.

And Arthur has been interviewed for the England job so that would rule Newman out!

He has been a quality player and full of talent. Always had a that petulant/arrogant streak in him which isnt always a bad thing. You need to back it up though and he hasnt really this year.

I fully agree. He's been a liability for some time now with his attitude and unfortunately he hasn't been good enough to back that up with his actual performances too. He must be cringing at Bird coming in and putting in 2 MOTM worthy performances straight away.

I don't mind a wind up merchant, it often helps teams to have at least 1. However with Newman, far too often it would actually be him getting wound up instead.

We are well rid of him I think, he's mentally checked out and I'd have put him on a plane to Perth early if we could!

John Harbin (Wakey coach), was a swine for quoting his dad when commenting on refs...

"I can't comment on the ref, but my dad says he was ...".
