Nothing story from a nonsense website.

What are the issues that have 'plagued' several SL clubs in 2026?

We saw an identikit article a few weeks ago when Wigan travelled. Is this just going to be repeated every time?

Wakey chartered a plane for France last year...and we got beaten.

I'd have made them walk home.

Carrying their bags.

The issues are that some clubs' operations departments book them 12 hour journeys via Germany, and then blame it on "the French" in moaning media interviews afterwards, rather than come up with better solutions like this like adults

MY point is though that Cas suffered some delays and stupidly moaned in a casual interview and now SRL are running a repeat article every time Toulouse stage a home game.

It's a non-story, and as far as I can see, only Cas have had an issue this year.

Fair enough. You know SRL is pretty much just another couple of randoms in their bedrooms these days though? Long gone are the Johnstone Press days of Yorkshire Post and Sheffield Star. Basically it's like Mick Gledhill but with a website and a vague connection to some glory days with sepia photos and the smell of hot ink off a press 😂

oh yeah, it's one of the very worst. It's why I challenge it being shared here as a story really.

Just wait until Toulouse host Catalans.

Didn't Matt Ellis sort it in the Championship season away game at Toulouse too. Opposite side of Castleford's coin (once again 😉) too cushy.

Got our only loss of that season and quite a hammering iirc.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

Coach to Stansted then Ryanair to Toulouse or Coach to Heathrow then Air France or BA to Toulouse.

Seems reasonably simple or are there budget constraints that preclude these routes?

To defend Cas a little on the logistics here (the issue was them being small time and moaning about it), it was outside of summer season, so flights are more limited, and it isn't always a case of nipping onto SkyScanner and getting some flights booked - they are trying to get a smooth journey for around 25 people and equipment.

I recall flying into Edinburgh one time and a pro RU team had taken most of the flight up - with certain configuration that was a bit of a pain for everyone else.

Sometimes these things are a bit awkward, and delays happen - the issue was a couple of Cas folk having a whinge, and now SRL are running with it, when in reality, an airport delay isn't a story.

They've paid for each other's flights, but they have to fly from Leeds or Manchester.

Didn't Cas try the cheapest option and that's why it went belly up?

Toulouse basically play here every other week and as far as I'm aware don't suffer travel problems.

That was never mentioned in the article. There were no direct flights and they seemingly chose badly!

But the actual issue was just that they had some delays, which happens.

No direct flights from where?

To be honest, with any quotes from a club official or coach, I now just assume they're answering a direct question. Every week, there's some sort of headline, that is basically, "Coach says this about this!" Then you watch the press conference and the journo has asked "what do you think about this?"

I can't recall, when it was discussed at the time I think it was Leeds/Bradford and Manchester that was mentioned. So there was additional travel needed, whether that was a coach to London, or a flight to another airport etc. Which is what they did - I'm not convinced two flights was the best option, but as they've said, they'll learn from it.
