Back in the seventies I played in a few very low quality friendly games on Leigh Rec and Ronnie gave up his time to ref some of them. RIP.

One of the great characters of our game back in the 70s and 80s.

Amazingly enough, he stood next to me in the Threepenny Stand to watch a game at the Boulevard once!
