Made his debut for Rovers in September 1949 at Batley .Playing in the centre he scored a try.Moved to loose forward before the cup run in 1952.He was the Rovers leading try scorer 82 for a forward until peter Smith broke it in 1987.I saw him play in the mid to late 1950's he was a very good ball handler throwing out accurate passes and the odd back pass.In the later stages of his career he moved into the second row to enable a young Terry Clawson to play loose forward. He deserved more than his one selection for Yorkshire as reserve to travel but at the time there were some very good back row forwards playing.R.I.P.
