Without a source I'd suggest we park it there.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

oldham have been taken over by mike ford and harrington,

Can't see Ford using any of his own money.

This is likely an ill-founded rumour

Maybe he is using son George's pile? He's on a phenominal amount at Sale.

It is a curious rumour though.

Total rumour.Bill Quinn is still the owner

Would have thought so. He has resigned as Chairman, but still owns the majority of the shares.

He has the future, or otherwise, of the club in his hands.

Rumours Oldham’s players haven’t been paid today

Taken from Halifax threads, hope its not true but rumour mill now probably working overtime after yesterday's news???

Whether the MF takeover story's are true or just pure speculation is to be determined however if possible I think the club (Oldham) should put out some sort of statement just to address the short term concerns of the fans. Yes long term possibly without BQ's financial backing is a massive issue but a bit of clarification where possible about where the club currently stands would be appreciated.

As for BQ, all the best with your health issues and hope they can be resolved speedily, health comes first and thank you for all that you have done for Oldham

Player's haven't been paid apparently. Absolute disaster if true.

Didn't play like they hadn't been paid. Perhaps it's the next payment which is in doubt?

The Game Caller is not a good source.  He takes random fan comments, fiction and rumours and sticks the 'exclusive' tag on it.  He ain't no journalist for sure.

REMEMBER ..all rumours.... I too am concerned, was hoping that there would be another pending announcement regards to next steps, however if the decision for BQ to step down was only internally announced this week, what do us as supporters expect? Im sure that there will be updates in the coming days

Reading between the lines, BQ is looking for an exit and a new consortium is looking for an entry. There is manoeuvring involved, too-ing fro-ing, backwards and forwards. Threats of walking away leaving a mess etc etc.

The usual machinations involved in hostile takeovers. Eventually a deal will be struck and one way or another a new board will either be formed or the old board will prevail.

Taken from the yeds supporters group on FB for those that haven't seen it =

🚨 FANS – WE WANT YOUR VIEW 🚨

If there was a genuine opportunity for supporters to be part of a bid for Oldham RLFC alongside a consortium/lead owner, would you be interested?

The idea would be a membership model where fans contribute monthly and, together, build a collective shareholding in the club — giving supporters a real stake and voice, alongside other investors.

👉 Is this something you’d support?
👉 Would you be willing to take part?

Drop a 👍 or comment below — we’re trying to gauge real interest from the fanbase.

Continued 👇

We arent looking to own the club, just to show an interest to any party taking over.

If we have 100 people. Willing to put £25 per month in. Thats £2,500.

£30,000 a year.

Surely thats worth something to someone taking over.

We could also offer options if people can and want to pay more
