We need to bring the same intensity and discipline that we did last week if we are to have any chance of winning this weekend. Sheffield are a very good established championship side who will punish any mistakes we make. It will be good to see Fitzy back at Derwent Park just a pity he is not in a Town shirt. Looking forward to this one.

Discipline is a good call, last week it was superb, its been a big problem for us in games this season so last week shows just how much impact it can have, especially with some refs being very erm, liberal with their set restarts.

Loan signing from Warrington for a week, Ben Hartill, a young hooker. I wouldnt be surprised to see Callum miss this game after the way he carried an injury last week, so this is exactly what we need.

I thought that but listening to Jontys interview just sounded like he didn’t want to play him for the full 80 and wanted to keep Jammer at loose forward. Said Callum couldn’t train on Tuesday because his knee was up like a balloon but told Jonty he’d be fine for the weekend!! He’s an unbelievable warrior.

Good news hes playing but I hope hes not doing himself any lasting damage.

Hes been outstanding this season, has to be in with a shout for player of the season.

Excellent we have got some cover at 9, Callum is a machine but his body can only take so much.

If the lads can back up last week, despite the long list of injuries I think we can sneak it  28-24 UTT

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

The first half was a litany of ill discipline ( restart on last tackle for the first try ) , errors ( dropped bombs , knock ons ) , and a lack of basics ( tackling , last tackle plays , any shape or threat in possession ) …. The second half started with three knock ons , a restart and a simple push over try , and that was that . Like Dewsbury , anything after that didn’t matter . Very frustrating because again I’m looking at a side thinking if we were anything like we can beat these , but we’ve seen that movie before

Poor 1st half, up there with the 1st half vs Dews.

Abdul kicks punished us (why dont we spot him in defence) along with some poor discipline/errors and bad defence.

2nd half was better, but did sheffield ease up?

Sheffield done basics well but we made it easy.

Frustrating...Corkill best game for a long time, cannot give sides 20+ starts

All these teams do the basics well and aren't anything special but we gift them their wins. We haven't latched on to what's required, if we ever do we'll be competitive.

This is the least comments i've ever seen on a match.. 3 !!

Is so effing depressing. Line speed is rubbish, our attack is way to flat, our defence non-existent at times and basic errors over and over again. Nowt really changes.

Main thing for me & it must drive Jonty & his staff mad , is on reflection now how winnable that game was but the madness of some our first half D/organisation gifted them points. E.g. guy wrapped up in the grandstand corner on last tackle,  ref surely about to shout held then he gets ball away , bit of basketball stuff, kick to opposite side- try…. Strong run by eagles player 10/12 metres out from our line, first contact is ok, bit of a wrestle then the lad just breaks free & scores. Just all completely avoidable. And yeah, like previous poster said … it is just depressing. Guts you. Just because the boys are better than that, we’re town fans, we know we don’t win every week & it’s accepted (by me) but the daft stuff drives us (me) mad. Still UTT though 😉
