Yes 63 years ago Town played Wigan at Derwent Park. And Town scraped home by 8-6.

Towns scorers were Tries - Glastonbury, Archer. Goal - Foster.

Town line up = Lowden, Glastonbury, O'Neil, Brennan, Southward, Archer, Roper, Edgar, Tabern, Gardiner, McLeod, Foster, McFarlane.

Town played 10 matches during May of 1963, as a catch up, owing to a three month closure because of the severe 62/63 winter freeze up. Also 9 matches were played during April, so 19 matches in two months - wow.
