I want to see if Sheffield have improved and can contain London at all.

But more of interest is how the new ground works out.

Newcastle Thunder 40 v 12 Goole Vikings
Oldham 30 v 18 Midlands Hurricanes
Barrow Raiders 40 v 10 Hunslet
Batley Bulldogs 60 v 6 North Wales Crusaders
Dewsbury Rams 34 v 14 Workington Town
Halifax Panthers 26 v 22 Salford
Rochdale Hornets 32 v 24 Swinton Lions
Sheffield Eagles 12 v 42 London Broncos
Whitehaven 10 v 26 Keighley Cougars

I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

As far as the Cru are concerned, don't care about the result - we've a team on the park!

Exactly!!! Tim (post above mine) I think is generous at 60-6 🤣

.Ground looks good. Plusses and minusses, obviously, but you'll be able to get a pie and a pint if that's what you want.

Still some work incomplete but should be done by the end of the season.

Goole turned up with a plan and executed it well in the first half, second half Thunder ran away with it. Played at pace and Goole couldn't cope with it.

Spoke to some Goole fans after, they're doing it tough at the minute. They've had a rapid rise to this level due to a lack of teams.

Probably me that jinxed the Hurricanes tonight after I'd missed the 1895 game. The 30-10 final score isn't really fair on our players who worked hard throughout and defended like demons against an Oldham side who made good use of superior size. They did of course also work hard and kept up a fast pace to keep us penned back in our own half.

Can't wait to get back to Avery Fields now and the chance to reset after a well-earned week off.

I'll be at Batley tomorrow. We've got 18 players and they've at least had a training session this week! Respect to all the lads putting on a Crusaders shirt tomorrow. Thanks for giving us hope.

Haven't been following this one but it will be interesting to hear from fans who went whether the fact that George Whitby played on loan for Salford rather than Halifax was the decisive factor.

Yes. He scored a try and kicked 5 (from 6?) goals.

Wow, Batley have scored 100 against Crusaders. Tough times for the NW boys at the moment.

It may be tough for the rest of this year, but the important thing is that we survive and rebuild....the new board/owners are so far doing  a sterling job on less than a shoestring, so the fact we've got a team on the park to lose by that much is a major achievement,🙂

Well done to Cru for getting a team on the park.

Good win for Dewsbury today. Think the scoreline didn't do justice to Workington, who look a very good side.

Money may not buy you love, but it can buy you a very good Championship squad.

From a Sheffield perspective, perhaps we made it a little easy but you have to admire London's speed and handling. In the heat on a good pitch they were unstoppable at times.

The ground is OK. A massive improvement on the OLP, and there may be things that can be improved, but big congratulations to Mark Hannigan and the team for getting it ready. It might get exciting when Fax or Widnes are in town as it's very much unsegregated and everyone is very close together.

I heard that London weren't happy with the facilities. Well, tough luck, you're in a part-time league so don't expect Wembley. You can act like entitled prima donnas when you're in SL.
