There seem to be so many one-sided scores now I seem to be losing interest in SL and I don't want to. Video refs also kill the game for me. Just saying.

This injury epidemic clubs are suffering is unprecedented and a reason that there are blow outs, agreed re the officiating and rules it is spoiling the spectacle for me also, so much so I have stopped attending with all the stoppages.

Yeah, the injuries on the back of the 6 agains, speeding up, and ball in play focus is creating a lot of blow-outs and uncompetitive games.

Skipping a lot more of the NRL and SL this term, sadly.

I don’t watch the NRL but mates who’ve always said the “everything is brilliant NRL” are seeing more one sided games”. How big does the margin have to be for it to be one sided. When Saints played York in April the score didn’t reflect the match.

Well so far this weekend the games that have been broadcasted have been terrible . HKR v Wigan was a self inflicted farce, but the other two were dire. Hull I have some sympathy for due to their freakish number of injuries, Huddersfield are utter garbage and dont deserve to be in the competition.

I am not a NRL follower but I suspect the gulf in quality between the top and bottom is not as extreme as SL. That is a difficult one to solve. However the VR is the easy bit, some of these refs need to be told to 'grow a pair' and trust themselves. One or two seem so frightened to make a call they need angle after angle, time and time again on simple decisions.

The answer to that is yes and no.

The yes is that the league is more competitive from top to bottom and teams can be more or less competitive year to year, which you rarely see in Super League. For example, the top 4 last year, Raiders, Storm, Bulldogs and Broncos are currently sat at 12th, 15th, 13th and 11th in the ladder while the wooden spoon team last year (Knights) are currently in 4th.

But on a week by week basis, there are certainly blow out scores with 17 games this year being won by 30+ points.

There are just more points in the modern game, there is an average of 50 points a game in the NRL this year and 21 games with more than 60 points.

The whole sport has been engineered to benefit the attack and it doesn't take a massive gulf between two sides for the scoreboard to run away from the losing side - that is true of both the NRL and Super League.

Do Huddersfield not have just as many injuries as Hull FC?

Some people may be moaning but the attendances and viewing figures are continuing to climb.

The problem with this is that one of the criticisms of 6 again is that it is used tactically, with teams deliberately conceding a 6 again rather than defend without a set line. If the punishment came down from 6 again to 3 again, surely we would see this increase?

Depending on circumstances, the 6 again is criticised for favouring both the attacking side and the defending side. In the end, the better team invariably wins a game.

This subject usually appears as a thread much earlier in the season.

Which is a sort of positive, I suppose.

The declining quality of Super League is more to do with the declining quality of the players than the rules.

Mmmm - needs a bit of work.   Nobody's going to be happy on tackle 1 if you tell them there's three tackles to go.

Speeding up the game and making it easier to score sound great ideas.  Tries are what the customers want to see.

Unfortunately, they're usually scored by just one of the teams.   The only way you'll resolve that is by levelling up the teams.   Which will create a different set of problems, of course.

It did feel a bit depressing that the narrative last night was about two wingers, with a combined age of 105, and which one was going to score the most tries.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

There are huge momentum swings with teams scoring three or four tries, so comebacks can happen - Raiders nearly being run down by Souths. Too many cricket scores though for my liking. Teams winning by 25-30 points can be exhilarating sometimes, but it's happening all the time. The soul of the game is slipping away.

I think these Law interpretations can create cracking games between two well-matched sides. I thought some of the recent NRL GFs were amazing - when Brisbane won and Penrith ran them down with that Cleary masterclass. Unfortunately, there are too many blow-outs in regular season football.

You and Pulga would fit in well over here.  We need new blood for the constant carping criticism and general running down of the game which makes it so difficult to entice new support.

Been far too much emphasis on speeding up the game for the attack without considering how detrimental it would be to defence.

No, we just need better people running the sport.

A natural consequence of the drain to the NRL.
