The French Federation have been putting efforts in to giving the game a kick start in the former French colonies of the South Pacific. There were a couple of articles about it on their website last year.

Granted, not the same as getting some help from the NRL.

Perth Bears CEO has been talking up a match between themselves and the PNG Chiefs in Singapore once the Chiefs are in the competition. Same time zone as WA and not a particularly long flight, I reckon it could be a real hit with Perth Bears fans and even casuals given the novelty value and the inability of their main rival in that State being unable to do anything like it. Great viewing back into WA as well. Sounds like a winner to me.

Last flight out before the runway shut down was to Australia . Family member has a british and Ozzie passport , mate just a british one . Wasnt allowed onto plane . Family member stayed with him . A few weeks later a military flight landed , family member ended up back in Oz . In a hotel room , bit like a prison , security guards etc . Mate got on a german ? plane back into europe then onto UK . Mad times . Hard to believe , looking back .

Singapore Sunbirds defeated Vanuatu women 28 - 16 in the Women's International Nines.

Match was played over 3x 15 minute thirds.
