The two Lukes representing England,  they bombed last year, let's hope for better this. No Iceman for Wales which is disappointing. 

Van Veen and Van Gerwen looks a  tasty combo. Given the Littler Van Veen spat a Netherlands/ England final could be sparky to say the least.

Really looking forward to this. Very much enjoyed it last year. Got a feeling the German pairing might nick it this year.

Now we're into the knockout rounds   things getting interesting.

Three close games tonight,  N.Ireland the holders scrape through to QFs, Germany through too, Littler and Humphries beat Spain 8-5 only.

Netherlands now in trouble against Sweden. 3-0 up, now 3-4 down. Van Gerwen and Van Veen with work to do.

Quarter Finals tomorrow afternoon,  semis and Final evening.

England  v Wales (Two Lukes v Clayton and Kenny)

v Winners of;

Scotland ( Anderson and Menzies) v Rep Ireland 

N.Ireland  ( Gurney and Rock) v Latvia

v Winners of:

Netherlands v Germany (Van Gerwen and Van Veen v Pietreczko and Schindler )*

* should be quite a game.

Phew, entertaining quarter finals , Two Lukes taken to last leg against Clayton and Wales. 

N. Ireland last leg win too against Latvia. Rock and Gurney look pumped up to defend title but have massive SF to overcome.

Van Gerwen looking like the old Van Gerwen,  and Van Veen looked unstoppable against Germany.

Easy wins for England and Netherlands.

ENGLAND 10 NETHERLANDS 5

Unlike last year Littler and Humphries play like numbers 1 and 2 in the world.

High quality final on paper with top 4 ranked players on stage, but Van Gerwen and Van Veen after going ahead 2-1 were blown away.

So that's one England world Cup win, will there be another?

England women's T20 team possibly but that's probably it!

Yeah the two Luke's got better with each game and achieved a well deserved victory.

Such a good tournament is this one. Looking forward to next year already.

Always feels a real shame that it's held in a largely half-full arena most of the time in the middle of Germany. It's something unique in the darts calendar that it could be much better.

Yeah would make sense to take it to different countries.
