Wandering pete Posted June 11 Posted June 11 The Eagles occupy 7th spot with 8 wins from 13 starts.A real curates egg of a season so far..on the road they have won 6 from 8.Haven (11-4),Hunslet(24-16),Hornets(44-20),Dewsbury(18-16),Worky(28-16) and Fax(28-14) with defeats at Broncos (4-48) and Widnes(12-16).At home just 2 wins from 5..Raiders(22-6),Salford(38-26)..losing to Oldham(30-36),Dons(0-46) and Broncos(10-72).Points difference of -67(269-336).A chance for the Raiders to put right that defeat back in February when self inflicted errors gave the Eagles a flattering victory. RLDB Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Finally a game I can get to, on paper they have a very strong squad. Barrow are playing well at the moment and will hopefully have too much for Sheffield. Ritson is a big miss however Tom Forber is a great player to bring in to Cover Josh Wood. Barrow 26 Sheffield 8. Att 1850. 1
Raiderfan79 Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Barrow 36 Sheffield 18 att 1870 i think we will have too much for Sheffield and we owe them one 1
RLDB Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Well that was hard to watch tonight, but a wins a win. With Bullock, Walker and King off the pitch Barrow had very little go forward. 1
2Cents Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Think I heard attendance was 1300 for this first 6pm Sat. game - 500 missing from a 3pm Sun. game. 1
Raider91 Posted June 13 Posted June 13 1400 there, crowd will have been effected by big games at Barrow Island and Walney respectively. On the game, I thought Shane Toal was exceptional in defence arguably the best I've seen and a great assist for Robsons try. Emslie defence on the other hand was far less impressive. Gritty performance which got the job done. 1
Raiderfan79 Posted June 13 Posted June 13 (edited) Poor attandance about 400/500 down cant see Walney event effecting that many off gate and didn't barrow island play this afternoon was a close game sheffield were a decent side could of gone either way but it's another win though win again next week against Dewsbury an Salford away we should win even though they have improved then a tough Newcastle fixture which I think we will win in a close game and then 2 tough away games at Widnes and Oldham we might have a chance at Widnes but probably lose to Oldham Edited June 13 by Raiderfan79 1

Gritty performance which got the job done. Sheffield scored a try to level the score through Shane's position when he was laying injured on the half-way line. Not sure if Richards was sitting in the sin-bin also. I agree about Emslie, he missed numerous tackles. Understand Costello will be back next week. Edited June 13 by 2Cents correction 1
HP Beans Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Very strange game to watch for me,little cohesion on both sides in attack and defence throughout.I thought a draw was probably a fair result but so glad we come out on the right side of it. Disappointing crowd, maybe the 6pm Sat night ko is no good, also streaming live on YouTube maybe had an effect? Fair play to club for trying different things but I’m unsure what the benefit is from streaming live for free, maybe someone can enlighten me? 2

Might the football World Cup have had an effect? 3 Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.
UpTheRaiders Posted June 14 Posted June 14 A win is a win against one of our bogey teams. Thought Teare, King and Bishop were all exceptional. Onto the next one 1

Raiderfan79 Posted June 14 Posted June 14 (edited) A Good effort by town but i still feel Oldham will have too much at home for us we can't win them all lol I think we will probably only lose another 2 games all season until play offs Oldham away being one as they well beat us at home Edited June 14 by Raiderfan79 1

Road dogs at their best can give them a game I reckon 2
