Remember when the club said he was ill and would be back soon? 

Looked remarkably chipper at the Warrington game on sky last night! 😂

Spoke to him as well. Contrary to the ‘rumours’ posted on here, he’s never left and was very grateful of the support he’d received whilst he’s been off ill. He’s hoping to be back for the next game. P

George is self-employed. He always worked at multiple clubs, including Warrington, Salford, Oldham and elsewhere last season. No mischief to be made here Brian.

We were told he was ill and would be back soon. This was clearly never the case.

I think it's obvious he's left the club for whatever reason. 

I have no idea what reason. 

I suppose I could hint that I have inside info and say I do.

You seem a fan of this approach going off your previous. 

I'm not.

Indeed, he's clearly left the club. 

In which case, why did someone at the club feel the need to mislead the supporters? 

Still, water under the bridge and all that. 

Let's hope there's a good deal more honesty from the new directors.

It can be both things.

He was ill, I have no reason to doubt it.

And being a contractor on presumably an Ok wage was cut soon after due to the financial issues.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Yes think multiple things can be true. Was a while ago when an update was provided and no recent to doubt he was ill.

Some time has passed since last update and therefore if he feels ready to work then don’t think any of us should begrudge a contractor earning money.

As a side point, I think saying someone looking “chipper” and trying to downplay whether they were ill is a bit out of order. 

I don’t confess to know what was up with GR but how would you feel if someone said you were lying about your health?

Maybe you should head over to the clubs Facebook page on the thread regarding no commentary tonight. George has posted himself saying he cat sorry he back, just got to be very careful with his health

Obviously he will be a cost and it's whether the new board think that he is worth retaining.  I do hope so and, from the chat, I know that George has the club very much in his heart.

Seems like we’ve also lost Samuel the water carrier, he looked incredibly happy working for the football club today when I bumped into him outside boundary park? 

Must be more behind these great people who have given so much for oldham walking away. 

Anyone know what happened with Sam?

Clearly the club were being honest and nobody was misleading anybody. Let’s hope the new directors continue to be as honest.

Matt did a sterling job the last 7 months but it was so good to have George back today.

Just one of the best at what he does.
