Why are there so few fixtures?

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

I think some of these matches are the replacement fixtures due to Featherstone dropping out, so had to be played on a previously blank weekend. Halifax v Swinton certainly is

There weren't any in the original fixture list. All these are rearranged or replacement Fev games.

No idea why we got a blank weekend originally, unless it was so we could start the season in mid January.

Honestly - went exactly as most Oldham fans anticipated and very happy we were on the right side of the scoreline. Batley match up really well with us and always a close game.

Teams should underestimate Mount Pleasant at their peril. Thanks Batley for the hospitality and good luck for rest of season.

Always a pleasure to go to Mount Pleasant, especially when Fev went, but been this season and the welcome you get is 2nd to none.

As you say, always a pleasure to go to Mount Pleasant, a really tidy traditional Rugby League ground, all the staff are very friendly and the fans are usually very appreciative of a good match even when the outcome doesn’t go their way.

Seven try master class form Gairo Voro. His goal kicking was not so good ! Voro looked a different class from the rest, has sublime footwork and pace to burn. Gutsy display from Hunslet, London not at the absolute best but they don't need to be.

London 78 Hunslet 16. A gsme that kicked off 15 minutes late. And one in which at one stage Hunslet had pulled bsck to 20-10 witj London having a lot of problems in attack doing a right shift which led to two breakaways, one of which led to a try and one that did not.

A Garo Voro masterclass not only does he have pace to burn he also appears to be dipped in grease as opposing players struggle to lay a hand on him. His penultimate try the outcome of a rwverse flick from Finlay Glare is worth watxhing the highlights for on You Tube.

Mike Eccles spent the game on  the sidelines directing affairs even though Jason Demitriou was prsent.

The crowd always difficult to say because of how low the stands are, but certainly in my area more than.last year.

And I am typing this on an earlier train than I expected to get 😀

Goole 0 Widnes 52 FT. Nice to make a first visit to the VPG. It was only 14-0 with 25 minutes to go, but Widnes scored 7 tries in the final part of the game when a lot of Goole players were playing out of position in the forwards. Home team never gave up though and were deservedly sung off the field by their fans.

This looks like the same YT channel who had the magically disappearing Salford livestream last weekend, this time covering the match v North Wales. No commentary this time, though.

Yes, it's getting better. Only snag is that I'm not, currently waiting to hear about the timetable for chemo and other nasties that mean I may have to miss the rest of the season. Happily the prognosis is favourable, so I'll be back next season.

And hopefully so will the Crusaders.

Good to see Salford moving slowly but surely up the table, interesting times ahead for them.
