Well that went well, coach was delayed by 1 1/2 hours as the lift wouldn't work to get Wayne on it, so we missed Cockermouth and went straight to Whitehaven for the game. I spoke to Ant Murray very quickly after the game, like most RL coaches he is very approachable. I said after the game about the forward pass, being a couple of points up with 5 mins left and doing something like that is criminal. I know most of the players are youngish but we need to learn as we keep throwing away these winning positions. Credit to Gav Rodden who had an amazing game

Although it was a narrow defeat away from home this was a disappointing result against a team of similar strength and ability to Swinton. Listening to the Radio Cumbria commentators they said that Haven's performance was just as error strewn as Swinton's. Not one for the purists but a tense game. The injury to Gibson was a factor but keeping discipline, completing sets and kicking well are the basics which any team has to get right. Let's hope the team can improve on the basics and pick up a few wins before the end of the season.

Unfortunately the team is still inconsistent when it comes to seeing out games - we have been unable to do it against Rochdale, Halifax (twice) and Whitehaven - if Gibson's injury means he will miss Sunday's match then we will definitely struggle against Doncaster.

This season is nearly over but we well have more victories and hopefully against Salford.

I hope plans are in place to strengthen the squad next season but having said that I am not sure what the future holds for championship RL
