They're certainly not as excitable about us getting investment as they were about potential money issues.

That’s Rugby League for you, they go on about that lot who play that other kind of Rugby, but they are no better, wanting to keep the old guard ‘traditional’ ie those adjacent to the M62 , clubs in their rightful place and good help any upstarts that want to break the Status Quo. The thing is we have been around just as long as the vast majority of those clubs and longer than some others.

Obviously I support York but want every club to be healthy and prosper as it makes the game stronger.

I don’t want to see any clubs struggle and really felt for Featherstone, Salford and Halifax fans in the last 12 months and it’s heartbreaking what happened gladly Halifax seem to have turned it around. What I can’t understand is why people get great satisfaction out of other clubs struggles they seem to get a buzz out of it.

Anyway fingers crossed everything goes okay with the proposed takeover and we can kick on from a fantastic first season in super league.

I noticed last night that a certain brewery that used to feature prominently in pre match advertising were strangely missing last night. I wonder if they were the sponsors that withdrew their sponsorship?

At the moment there is a lot of speculation, so maybe we should wait for an official statement from the club. I went into the club shop last night, and didn't recognise any of the staff, hopefully none of the regulars have been affected by whatever has, or hasn't, been going on.

I do have it on good authority that Huddersfield are absolutely hopeless and couldn't possibly be allowed to stay in Super League.

Around 5.00 minutes in john Davidson talks about the York investment. According to him some wrong reporting (game caller? Wrote a piece on David Dickson). Speaking to 2 groups one local based and 1 is not.

The reports he’s referring too I believe is bowers suggesting the deal was finalised.As I understand there’s 2 groups Dickson is the local one.Then Theres a group from hull who made a 7 figure offer that supposedly was rejected.I expect Dickson to be the owner and Clint to still be on board in a different role from what I’ve heard

THERE’S little indication that Dickson is actually taking over York - at least not on his own or with only his family. Yes, as previously reported, he’s investing in the Valkyrie. Once more, we’ll ask you to go back a week or so to a match report - when we said an identity with links to Hull was ready to come in an buy out 70 percent of shares for a “low seven figure” sum. Here’s another tip: it’s not him either. Our latest info is that a third party from south of the equator is going to blow them all out of the water. But first, they need to know York are in Super League next year and they will get full funding. The club’s current ownership is saying nothing - less than nothing - about the situation.

My understanding is that David D is wanting the club to be owned/run by local investors.  

If, as Steve suggests, there is money coming from, presumably, down under then one would think that is a Clint initiative? 

Reading between the lines, it's all a game of wait and see when the RFL decides the make up of SL for 2027.

I know this is me being impatient but I wish that all this would hurry up and sort itself out. I can't help but feel we will be behind the eight ball already regarding recruitment for next year. I guess it DOES all depend on whether we are still in Super League or not but I'd just like to see it all sorted out. (apologies for my impatience).

You can understand why people aren’t willing to invest unless we’re in Super League but we all know how it’s run! We probably won’t get to know again until November.

But if we really have the interest of a big backer you’d think we would still be playing in the top league, even on merit by not finishing bottom.

This will help with the club selling the business to increase support which the Knights deserve. We know better performances attract better support. The size of the stadium is adequate for us and we should be close to selling out each week in the next few years. 

I’ve said before, I’m hoping it’s exciting times for the club and we’re always moving in the right direction.
