Wigan’s performance ceiling is higher but the last couple of weeks suggest our form is on the slide. Not much in it but I think we have too many weapons for Saints and will prevail. 
 

All eyes will be on French to see if he can get through unscathed.

Wigan are still on a pretty good run despite the performances slipping a little while a few players have been out.

We've now got some senior players back in key positions. French, Marshall and Walters add experience to the previously weakened positions. 

Saints still have a raft of injuries and now their head coach has departed. 

I can only see this going one way and that's a Saints win. I mean it's nailed on right? The returning Wigan players will be expected to give us a lift but as has happened many times before the team will probably be underwhelming. 

Saints will be expected to be in disarray without their coach but as has happened many times before they'll actually turn out a top quality performance.

Bloody hell some Saints fans are stupid they annoy me so much. When they found out Liam Moore was the official, it was all Kurupt FM having a wigan ref officiating the game. That despite me telling them ‘we had won two GF’s with Moore in the middle’. They stare at you as if you’ve explained it to your pet cat.

Saints decimated by injuries, Wigan getting players back, seen this script before. Saints either come out fighting or wave the white flag. Hoping for a good game, but can't see past Wigan by around 20

Also people don't seem to understand that living in Wigan doesn't mean someone is a Wigan fan. Families move, loyalties are inherited from family members born and raised elsewhere. All someone's first referee's society tells us is what their first referee's society was.

But to the hard of thinking it's all a conspiracy.

The emotional fan in me thinks he over compensates in our games, to show he isn't biased for Wigan but I calm down after a day or two and realise he's a professional, just doing his job. I can't lie, I do think they should do more to avoid Wigan being reffed by Moore x2 or Jack Smith but on the basis that it's not fair on those guys themselves, having fans from both sides throwing muck at them and so it doesn't take focus off the game itself but I guess it's not easy logistically. 

As for the game, Wigan need to start stepping it back up now. It's been patchy since the last 15 minutes at York but with bodies back, they need to start building some momentum. I'm hoping what looked like some faster captains challenge decisions last night, will continue on and that should make sure we don't see games lasting 2 hours 15 minutes, like the Magic fixture. I think quicker games, with less stoppages will help Wigan as much as any side and more than most.

The Rowley departure might galvanise Saints. The players clearly hated him. They probably don't have the quality to actually win given their injuries, but i think they will get stuck in and make a game of it.

Kerr does that as his primary tackling style, keep an eye out tonight.

 

I spotted this when they played warrington earlier this year, and again 2 weeks ago when we played them again, he rarely does a standard tackle

There was a second when the screen showed it that Moore considered going further, but then he just decided to look the other way.

Really off-putting how Moore just ignores instances of foul play.

What!! The attacking player slipped into him as he was preparing to tackle him.

 

It's the most ridiculous rule in the game. Rewarding players for slipping over. Makes absolutely zero sense and never will.
