We're classing this weekend's game as Retro Shirt Day, and we’re calling on supporters of both Sheffield Eagles and Halifax Panthers to dig deep into the wardrobe and dust off your favourite retro shirt from years gone by..

Whether it’s a classic you’ve treasured for years, a shirt packed with memories, or an old favourite you’d completely forgotten about, we want to see them out on show at the MEPS International Home of Football Stadium, this weekend.

The retro shirts belong in the stands this Sunday, let’s see how many classics we can spot in the crowd!

Not been funny but the season was done as soon as the new owners decided to continue with the season.

From that point this season was always going to be about one of two things, spend as little money as possible and prepare for 2027 or get hands on the stadium.

Totally agree. Always going to be a dead rubber working with a tiny squad and relying on unreliable loanees, I've no idea why some folk think we should be competing with better and bigger squads. In the circumstances we've done exceptionally well winning 7 games since reforming.

Don't give in Ian. Fax need fans like you. Saying that, next season cannot and must not be owt like this one. Hopefully the new board's plan has always been to spend as little as possible as the Championship this year is an utter farce. P.S. I totally agree with you about today's game.

Partly agree with you both.IMO board should not have continued with this season if they couldn’t provide the funds to do it properly,which they haven’t.

Problem is that if we hadn't have competed this season, the 12 point deduction will have been applied next season making that a dead rubber instead. The points deduction is so stupid it beggars belief as it penalises the fans and new owners who have nothing to do with the mismanagement, and does nothing but damage the new regime and weakens the championship. .

Was there anything said about the stadium the other night? I see the council is promising an update at tomorrow’s cabinet meeting.

I'm not sure, Ive not seen anything from the club or much from fans on the meeting. To be honest Ive lost all interest, for the first time in about 40 years I don't even have a real idea who Fax are playing from one week to the next.

In my opinion there was very little point the new board spending money on the field this season but the infrastructure should be in place to have a proper re-launch for next season. Maybe that is happening behind the scenes but if it is, then we are not really hearing much about it but little things like the website don't fill me with much confidence.

Most people are saying the same but I can't agree.The board did brilliant to get the London game on and with a decent side and a 2.2k crowd and should of kicked on with that momentum and retained as much interest on the terraces for 2027.Since then it's all gone into a coma and crowds have lost interest,will they be back come feb ?

The apathy in the championship is an all time low with some embarrassing attendances, 3 figures being the norm. Less than 800 at Sheffield yesterday, and the crowd last week at expansion hopefuls Newcastle was a pathetic 194. Good job they're 2nd in the table, eh?

People are beginning to see the corruption in the game. York using Newcastle in full sight of everyone is the latest joke.

Yesterday result wasn't a surprise  i just can't help feeling the side we had out was not 30 points worse then Sheffield.

I get why we perform like that with what as happened this year but we made them look like world beaters.

Hopefully like as been said the club are well into their planning for next year when fingers crossed results will improve.

I really hate "super" league and everything it stands for. I hope it comes a cropper with a bad sky deal which is a possibility as sky are losing customers and are desperate as they've recently agreed to buy dinosaur itv. The sl clubs are losing tons of money, saints lost 3 million quid in 2025, they can't carry on like this (lol)

I am genuinely hoping for you lot that your new board are keeping their powder dry and are working on a cunning 2027 plan behind the scenes. If not I genuinely feel that you are gone.

When the new board took over I was initially pleased they decided to cobble together a team for this season, rather than write it off and restart next year, as I thought no rugby would lose more support than ###### rugby. With the benefit of hindsight I now think we'd have been better putting the money the board have presumably spent this year into next year's team. I definitely don't blame the new directors who've fought to keep the club alive, as has been said above though I just hope there's enough funding available to ensure next season isn't a damp squib.

If we hadn't put out a team this year then the points deduction would've been applied next season, so it was worth it just to get that over with.

I'm not sure it would, there is no talk of Fev starting with a points deduction if they make it back next season. We had to be punished this season as we had already accumulated points.

Good point. Salford didn't get a points deduction.

Salford were relgated, that was enough of a punishment. We don't yet have any idea about Featherstone.
