Simon Hall Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Matty English, joining immediately and for next season. Good signing that, things must be happening off the field. https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/matty-english-york-knights-transfer 2 2
KnightsDadFan Posted July 29 Posted July 29 "bUt yORk ArE iN sPeCIaL mEAsuREs" puts that to bed I guess. 2 year deal for a middle with 150+ SL games hopefully a nice solid addition.

This news might settle a few nerves, certainly as far as the fans are concerned.
Gav Wilson Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Solid signing. At 28 he'll be coming into his prime now too. Happy with that! 2 @GavWilson
Cam varley Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Happy days can’t grumble at a prop signing especially super league experienced and domestic 1
KH17 Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Sounds like Andy Djeukessi is the next to be called up from Thunder, a straight swap for Noffa who failed a HIA. Potentially 2 new faces for this weekend, not going to complain about that. And English seems like a very sensible signing. Bags of SL experience, non-quota and entering his prime years. 5
Darwin Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Top signing and good to see an experienced English player. No pun intended! Glad we have him straight away as it’ll relieve the pressure off the other forwards as we’re starting to look tired. I know Vaughan is signed for another year but not sure if the others are. I’d be disappointed if we didn’t have Jack and Va’a signed for another season as they’ve played brilliant. Jack goes under the radar but he gets through some work. A sign of good things happening! Well done! 4
Nearenough Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) fills the hole left by sangare desperate news that hes done his knee in training on day one. hope its a quick fix Edited August 3 by Nearenough
Rooney's Ears Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Matty English will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in training at York. The Knights say they will handle his rehabilitation after signing him on loan from Huddersfield. CHAMPIONS 2005

Expatknight Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Could only happen to us, yet another player who has got injured before playing a game, You have to feel sorry for him.

Rooney's Ears Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Only a Twitter rumour however. Thank goodness CHAMPIONS 2005

Rooney's Ears Posted August 5 Posted August 5 This year’s Super League deadline for permanent arrivals comes on August 21. With the uncertainty of which league etc etc do we risk lots of signings or is there another transfer window after IMG ratings come out? CHAMPIONS 2005

That deadline is for players for this season, can sign whenever we want for next year. Don’t think there’ll be much more movement for this year but you never know. Mash did say in his press conference that we’re signing players for next year and not planning for anything else other than SL. 3
