Going to be a tough ask this one against York reserves and they also have 5 loan players in their squad. Let's get in their faces and move the ball like we did last week and see what happens. Going to be in the VIP lounge again this week and delighted to see it is sold out again.

Going to this game thinking we’ve nothing to lose, nobody expects us to win so just get fired into them and let’s see what happens. UTT .

I'm normally a pessimist but going to this match with a bit of hope. We're making less mistakes now and seem to be gelling and I like the way we can intermix our half-backs (and FB) which makes us less predictable. Hopefully a vocal crowd too would help

Another frustrating afternoon, how many times are we going to give teams 20 odd points starts at home before we start playing. Once we started playing we looked very good. Wasn't expecting to win today but need to be better from the kick off.

24 points in the first 14 min at home is unacceptable, why do we start so slow take away the first 14 min and we we’re competitive, it’s so frustrating. Their scrum half run the game from the first minute, it’s been the same all season, anyone with a decent scrum half  usually kill us. Some good effort after the first 14 min, we have the ability to challenge most teams, we just need to stop giving teams a start. UTT

What might have been eh? We started off like we were expecting to get beat heavily and gifted them a 24 point start. If we could only consistently play our sets out like Jonty has been lamenting all season then we could have made it a very close game even catching up 24 points. At 24-16 the next score was vital and we proceeded to turn over three times into tries for them and then the game was gone. Masters of our own destruction again.

I thought Featherstone was our mom, both in attack and defence I thought he really left it all out there. UTT

Frustrating is the word. 

A pretty decent middle 30 minutes, but unfortunately either side of that we were bang average, so many unforced basic errors with and without the ball invited pressure on ourselves and that told in the end. 

I thought Rio and both Callums went well

That was the score you'd expect but it doesn't reflect most of the game. After the initial 20 minutes we were getting on top and stopped them scoring for half an hour , then Lawther's offload (which usually comes off) then Grant's knockon and the game had gone. I think we can see that as well as a championship squad you need three or four quality players with top level experience to be serious in this league. If only we had a new coach with those contacts.

I think today showed how much we need a quality half back. There 7 was brilliant all game, running at pace, passing at pace, everything at pace which put thunder on the front foot. Ours just aren't anywhere close unfortunately, I thought by tanner was outstanding and looks tonne playing for a contract. The game changed when Callum was on and he sped everything up, pace kills and it was shown by both teams today, when the game was put into fast forward both teams were on top. I thought Lucas done well as well. Silly mistakes, drop balls, interceptions and a horrendous 15 minutes at the start made the score look worse than it was. But the lads can hold there heads high and show them can compete with the best in the league

Yes everyone in the Newcastle side was playing at pace, we had to be at our best to compete which we were in periods.

Well we were out of it before we were in it . 24 -0 without breaking sweat really . That was that game wise . Then we got a foothold and got three tries , and realised that  they weren’t superhuman , but unfortunately Evan’s flick offload which came up trumps last week didn’t come off and they scored , then Grant coughs up a simple pass and  they score again and that little bit of hope is gone . Frustrating really as I didn’t think they were all that great regardless of where they are in the league but we do things which we do way to often I’m afraid and you continue to get taught harsh lessons . Lawther is a really good player for us though , and I like Castle , he’s the one player in our pack who can offload . Callum puts a shift in every time and credit Lewthwaite for chasing back on a speedy winger . I often think though we don’t get enough from out halves , our last tackle plays are not great , and sorry but I’m not sold on Wear he’s not grabbing games at all at 7

Poor start, excellent middle quarter, Callum and Castle changed the game for us when they came on. At 24/16 they looked shot but back to normal 3 lost balls and 3 tries against!!!!!

Williams and Fearherstone also gave everything also Farrer looked good in opening 20.

Still having problems defending our edges which has been an issue all year

Agree that their 7 was the best player on pitch...prob why he has played in SL this year. They are a good team but we gifted them a good lead.

Thought Tanna had his best game, scholey was also good in defence. 

Could have been alot worse, but then again at 16-24....you never know

Yeah he was promising last year and does some good things but as said above neither halfback is lively enough for this league..not together anyway.

They had more support from York there today than Newcastle and that was just a car full at best , how they survive is beyond me, Featherstone mom for me gave everything today.UTT

Snapshot of the season for me today. 24 nil down in no time felt we were the team who had just got of the bus.

Can't fault the effort of the team  overall but you can't  gross over it. Newcastle too quick too strong. 

Hard lessons learned again but it's where we are. Being honest I think as true fans we have all adapted to losing  games over several years and it's the norm is to go defensive and say we will support the club whatever the outcome of a game. Which is understandable when we long for improvement but is this where we want to be now?

Personally the new coach appointment is  welcome. It just  hasn't gelled this season for me. 3 home wins out of 10 games. Everybody is accountable including the coach IMHO. 2 very winnable games to come but we have gone backwards this season regardless of the fixtures. 

Recruitment will be key now.Halifax and Salford will  undoubtedly improve so  i can see a much  tougher competition next season. All I want to see is a more competitive team next season with hopefully a higher winner percentage. Don't think thats unreasonable for a £20 entrance fee. UTT

The story of the season is not completing sets of 6,so for me the hooker is not controlling the yardage sets good enough or the forwards skills aren't good enough in contact.also last tackle options have been poor this year also,big changes needed to improve next season.

I can't argue with what Jonty says ,ok there's other areas we aren't great at but it's individual errors that have cost us big this year. Frustrating sums up nearly every game, other teams make errors but they aren't as costly as ours. We let teams off the hook and when we should be making it hard for them we do the opposite.

The Keighley game summed it up perfectly. We struggle early on, get a great breakaway try, ok lets settle it with a solid set after try. Nope, lose it on first tackle, not even a big hit or anything. Ok we defend the line well, get the ball back, right solid set, get to kick...nope, stupid attempted offload under massive pressure on or own 20m line on tackle 2....

I`m 100% certain thats not what he is coaching ha ha....

In games where we have low errors, good discipline etc we compete with anyone.

Dom Wier and Mason Lewthwaite back to Kells and R Ainley & Castle back to Haven the merry go round is starting in honesty season has been a show how can you have a team potentially getting in playoffs ( like us ) playing all the lower teams then could  end up playing London and getting 100 points put on us don’t make sense.
