Got to love the RL rumour mill.

At leigh this year we've swapped Pene for Campbell-Gillard and Trout for Dupree, while Trout was simultaneously serving a 2 year ban. 

But Field to Saints is clearly an attempt at parody. Unfortunately it is beyond parody.

Wigan don't need a long term full-back, Hodkinson is the future for them. Field is contracted to end 2027 with options in the club's favour for 28 and 29, so FB succession plans are already in place.

I don’t think he’ll go to Wigan. As others have said they’ve got Hodkinson next in line with others ready to break through in the next couple of seasons.

If he does leave Saints where else could he end up?

The actual rumour is about Field. That his missus is pregnant and he has asked to go home at the end of the season. Believable. Don't think we would stand in his way. He owes us nothing. Welsby at Wigan could work, there is still a top player in there somewhere. Id prefer Armstrong if I'm honest who is also coming op to being free to speak to clubs. I rate Hodkinson but don't see him as a long term FB at Wigan. When he made that break in the CC final when he offloaded it for French to score he was running through treacle after 50 metres. Back up winger I would be happy with and a view to nailing down that spot in the future.
