I sponsored a player in the World Cup game in  2020. "America" players were mainly from American Samoa. We lost fairly comfortably.

I'm excited about this fixture, hopefully we can fill the ground.

There is so much talk about ''investment'' in growth and development of new areas and new nations (with hardly any money actually spent) that this is the kind of collaboration which has some potential to make a global impact sooner rather than later.

The existing nations are crying out (especially England and France in the Northern Hemisphere) for some credible competitive opposition. The United States represents the greatest potential worldwide, to provide that opposition, relatively quickly.

I think we should be pouring all our help, encouragement and enthusiasm into the game in the USA. This kind of regular fixture (home and away) will hopefully be the start of an ongoing relationship, building a tradition, a shared history and a committed following into the future, on both sides of the Atlantic. 

A sudden growth spurt, over there (entirely possible) might mean Wales fall behind and are no longer competitive but wouldn't that be great for France and England?

In an ideal world, their improvement would be matched by improvements here in Wales, for everyone's benefit. We have nothing to lose. 

If V'landys has money to ''invest'', I'd hope he'd at least open an office in the USA with the intention to consolidate what's there and draw in the kind of backing, financial, managerial and entrepreneurial to build the game there, as quickly as possible.

Peter Lupton is likely to captain the USA team, he has lived in NY for a number of years and is still playing RL regularly at 44 yo.

It's not my field but I hope someone in the WRL organisation (one of Martins contributors, perhaps) will have some idea how to leverage this occasion to best effect.

Regular International competitions need to be locked in annually for the NH teams below England.

France, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, USA, Canada, Jamaica and possibly Nigeria need to be playing each other every year in organised tournaments

Yep - here in lies the problem. The United States team would probably get a thumping from a Cumbrian County team, which Peter Lupton used to represent.

I think there's enormous potential in America.

That's my suspicion as to why there's so much in-fighting out there.

They all sense they might have the goose that lays the golden egg and are unwilling to give up control/ownership to someone else just in case it yields a fortune, down the line.

Peter V'landys' man will have to solve this problem.

Then the floodgates will open.

Sweeping MLR and all other pretenders, out with the tide.

A legacy of the numerous splits and breakaway leagues and organisations I suppose.

They've had at least a dozen clubs in the national competition this year, which I suspect is more than half of the full members have done.
