Decent test this. If we win, I assume that’s the League won. As for the play offs the club have attempted to explain them on their social media but the whole thing comes off as some elaborate joke. After such a long season is it really necessary to have such an involved process.

It certainly is a bit like the saying "a camel is a horse designed by committee".  50% of the league in the playoffs beggars belief. But of course we are talking about the RFL & any connection between them & intelligent life forms, you'd probably need Mulder & Scully to explain it. 👽

With our points difference we realistically won the league last week. Win tomorrow (and that's not a given) we could rest players next week ahead of the 1895 Final and again against Swinton. I thought the championship final was going to be a week earlier and almost booked a weekend away.

Demeans the value of the regular season. A Championship version of the Super League knock-out structure would have been plenty enough.

Decent team. Hope it doesn't come down to goal kicks 😉

Hawkins with the kicking duties after Voro's errr interesting attempts last week.

Oldham started both halves well and we seem pretty careless with the ball and not really created much. Sadly they deserve the win. Hopefully we’ll learn from this.

Yes we seem to be dropping the ball for fun and not really creating much. Did we rely too much on physically dominating them and forgot to play?

You may be right. Not sure Max & Mathias have recaptured their form after being out for 3 months. I assume Branden is injured as he has been very good.

I still don't think we have much of a kicking game which is what you need in these type of games. On any other occasion, it would be good to say Josh & Morgan played well but fair do's to Oldham who seem to perhaps have had their best game of the season.

Not having seen the game it seems concerning that we only seem to have Sid, Sam and Morea out of the def starters. One of the highlights of their tries looks v soft in the middle.

Maybe best to get the warning shot now though.

Yes their kicking game seemed good. I didn’t get the sense ours pulled up trees. It’s been an area, along with goal kicking, that we could be better at. The worry is that starting line up is pretty close to what I think JD would choose. Morea comes in for Walker which gives us X factor and speed but perhaps less in defence. Meadows comes in to the 17 and I don’t think BHH starts but I suspect that’s about it. Didn’t hear Havili or Glare get mentioned much which is unusual. Max and Mathias were definitely putting it about…it’s Hawkins who seems to my untutored eye to not be quite where he was. Any way I suspect a loss at this stage my give us the kick up the pants we need to navigate the playoffs successfully.

Good point.  Meadows is a definite asset and adds a lot of competitiveness.

Who would have thought that a couple of seasons ago?

Watching the highlights back Voro looked to have a thigh problem, seemed at one point to be needing some attention from the physio.

No doubt a leg problem would have affected his kicking
